I know a lot of people here make fun of the stories feature of instagram but its really the main way most people (afk) I am in touch with nowadays share their life updates and the only way I am able to keep a lot of people in my life. I am glad to see @pixelfed's work to bring this dynamic to the fediverse (even though its not my personal favorite) it will make it much easier to get many people who do care about how much of their lives are controlled by an evil corp come to this side @pixelfed really hope to see how much of this can be standardized. if pixelfed has stories and livestreams, owncast has livestreams and peertube has livestreams there should be a way to view all these in a convenient location together. honestly having a mobile app present those all in the round icons at the top of a feed like insta stole from snap and then everyone else tried to use too it would be most usable for new comers who are already used to this dynamic.  @liaizon That's from an an old German weekly TV programme magazine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%B6rzu  @liaizon jesus, that’s... old. I am curious how stable it is. I cant try it atm because it needs macOS or Windows to setup thru AltStore @liaizon Haven’t used the iOS version but I have desktop UTM on Mac. It’s been a good vm manager, with x86 and ARM support, a bunch of config options, and a gallery of supported VMs prepackaged on their site. Took me half a day to get back to sanity. That's what attracts me to wm's like #StumpWM: at least I can know exactly what it's doing, and why. (Oh, and it can be manipulated live via a SBCL REPL, but that's an added bonus. @liaizon lol I did this by installing some fun 'retro' themeing for gnome and then when I went back to tiling WM all my scroll bars and dialog windows are still themed this way. I have no idea how to change it and its been months. At one point I considered just doing a fresh install. Now thats just 'how my computer is' lmao I just had to look up the word "heterogeneous" to double check its meaning while reading this book and realized I have had the opposite meaning in my head for years! if heterogeneous means diverse not able to load anything from @gotosocial@gts.superseriousbusiness.org on this account but it seems to work fine from mastodon.social. I wonder if the way this account is set up with the subdomain is messing up federation for some things Google maps has done me wrong twice now this week. I had checked a future scenario how late the train was running and it looked like it was indeed running late still so I decided to stay at Laidak but now I have a half hour extra walk and a bus ride cause there are no trains the buses here have USB ports now tho and I didnt know that so maybe everything has a reason |
