If you left Twitter way before Elon Musk was even rumored to buy it because of how it was run under Jack Dorsey, it sure sucks to see people mentally rewriting history to say Twitter only got bad after Musk and Dorsey's new platform is going to be paradise
Rachel T. says ceasefire now
@Louisa This seems an appropriate place to remind folks that Dorsey has endorsed conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

@Louisa I have no interest in joining his new platform since it'll just be the same garbage fire I imagine. Sure it might not happen right away but once again the users are the product being sold.

I've had a few new people ask me about my CWs, the best way to think of them is not as a mandatory tax for posting about nsfw topics (I know this is the inference circulating on Twitter) but as a tool you can use You'll never agree with everyone about what should and shouldn't have a content warning, but inviting people *in* to serious topics or gross jokes or movie spoilers can let you talk to people who would otherwise be pushed *out* of conversation with you just by their own wants and needs

It's pretty fucked how Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/Tumblr established themselves as places to host your words and pictures so you could share them with others, and now they all lock some or all the things you post there to users only Yeah it WOULD be nice if you could show me funny videos from Instagram, friend, but you can't and I'm sick of reminding you

Whenever a long distance friend asks how my weather is, I'm a *little* offended they don't keep a list of friends' locations in their weather app like I do

Death penalty for the people who look at customer questions on Amazon like "help! Does this product have X in it?? I can't read the ingredient list in the picture and my son is allergic to X", and decide to answer "I don't know if it has X in it or not. The jar is in my kitchen somewhere."

My childhood was full of "we have Froot Loops at home" moments, and the Froot Loops at home were something like sorghum rings colored with beet juice, from the natural foods co-op

Dave Bautista gives me Arnold Schwarzenegger vibes, in that he's a beefy guy straight men think is very cool even though he has a face like a squashed pumpkin

Look: we need to stop giving radically different foods the same name, I don't want to specify what I mean by biscuit, or chorizo, or fudge anymore

Partially inspired by finding out I was wrong for thinking the Spanish word "calabaza" and the English word "calabash" would surely be used for the same gourd 12
