I have a ton of small things to finish before I can ship the new Pixelfed app, that being said I do want to get it in your hands ASAP I’m planning to release an alpha build APK this weekend (some things may not fully work yet, but you will have a chance to see the huge improvements and help provide feedback) And by small things I mean non-essential features like viewing who you blocked, or accepting follow requests. While they are important to finish before the public release, being able to have an early preview and provide feedback will help me a lot! Oh man, the new Pixelfed app keeps getting better and better! I’m now finishing up Push Notifications support, which is the most requested feature besides share intents (which I shipped earlier tonight) Not only is it fast, lightweight and open source, but also packed with many long overdue features like Push Notifications 😎 It’s everything you wanted, plus more ✨   I just want to educate y'all about this specific "scary" warning (that you may see in the Pixelfed app) Apple Bonjour is a feature that enables seamless connection between your Apple devices You can safely tap "Don't Allow" without any impact, however, that may limit Handoff support and other Apple features we're planning to implement. Regardless, you can audit our app code yourself to verify we aren't doing anything sketchy

  @dansup you could try to delay that message by doing the first local network request after asking the user frist explaining what it is for. To give more context to users, so they are not confused. Pixelfed app + Share Intents Easily share photos and videos directly to the new Pixelfed app 😎    @dansup It would only be "easy" if you could configure the apps and their order, which Apple displays in the share dialogue.   @dansup maybe. Yet I use it. Not to indicate the online space that fedizens span up, but the suite of protocols that allow that. I recently started to make distinction between fedi and Fediverse as well, btw. PS. So, wow, a complete re-write of the Pixelfed app. You are a special human (or a really convincing robot, can't tell). I’m not an expert when it comes to encryption by any means, but from my work on Sup and my knowledge of the Signal protocol, I’m confident that the lies Elon and Telegram are spreading are unfounded. You can review the Signal protocol to see for yourself, like they (Elon and them) would be pointing to smoking gun vulnerable code if they had any real dirt, but I’ve yet to see any 😉
