Loops is super simple atm, and it's important we get the basics right. That being said, our R&D "department" has successfully implemented custom AR filters in the Camera (similar to Snapchat filters), and will support user contributed AR filters. We are a few months away from this being available to users, it will likely launch on iOS first with a limited deployment while we address performance/bugs. The goal is to be the best fedi video camera app, with powerful editing tools! We have also experimented with Live streaming, and other real time features! It will be expensive to support Live Streaming, and we are exploring ways to mitigate this before the feature is shipped.

Did one a few ago, login credentials doesn’t work, did a second and didn’t got a mail. (Yes spam checked)  I noticed a few spammers registered on loops.video As we onboard more users, you may run into spam accounts/comments/videos and do know that I'm working on this! This isn't my first rodeo, I have experience dealing with spam and developing my own class leading detection system. The notifications feature isn't ready yet, so it may not be noticeable until that rolls out later this weekend. @dansup How can they be so fast?  @dansup so that means because I signed up almost two weeks ago, I finally will get my first mail?  Fixing emails before I send out the @loops welcome emails! I made the mistake of "simple" email validation on the loops sign-up form, allowing invalid emails. This has been fixed, we now use `rfc` and `dns` validation checks, and I'm manually going through each one and fixing (when I can) before I send the Welcome mail blitz.  @dansup I tried to register some time ago, but didn't received any additional / confirmation email that was supposed to come, now I can't log in because it's saying that "those credentials do not match our records", is it something You can take a look into? I really want to try it out.. 😜 @dansup Love all the work for the Fedi that you do but you ARE THE BIGGEST TEASE ON THE FEDI! :emoji_wink:  Moderation on Loops presents some unique challenges, such as identifying reuploads of similar content using perceptual hashing, blocking copyrighted audio and potentially leveraging a collaborative approach among trusted admins. I love challenges like these, and look forward to the community feedback!   @dansup in relation to copyright, transparency about dmca takedown requests would be nice. I imagine that's more of an "at scale" thing. I do like that GitHub publishes all of its dcma takedowns in a repo. There is no point for @loops to support uploading your contact lists for Discovery. Not only is that being phased out partially on iOS, but it's a huge privacy concern. A better idea is to allow you to login to your Mastodon/Pixelfed/Akkoma account and upload your following list (which is usually public) with strict oAuth scopes. We can make this privacy friendly, and auditable, so you can see we only access/store this specific data. What are your thoughts?

  @dansup @loops considering how much information is likely in one's address book, and the unknown status of what would happen to the data if any third accessed the same, it has been my policy for years to never share my contacts with any app. And I resent the "not now" button, how about not ever? I don't particularly appreciate when PEOPLE share my contact information without asking me, so I guard everyone else's information just as much. It sure sounds like you're on the right path with this. This is our cat Tuk, he's been sick the past few days and hasn't been able to keep any food down. We took him to the vet today, and it turns out he was only dehydrated. I recently moved his water fountain, and didn't realize he stopped drinking from it. It's moved back, and he's fine now!! Why are cats like this?? He had us so worried, and for us to spend over $200 for the vet to say: "he a thirsty bitch" is like wow... wow, and my partner wonders why I'm a dog person 😅

@dansup @chrisamaphone as someone who perpetually forgets to do basic things like drink water, particularly if my routine is disrupted in the slightest, this is entirely too relatable and perhaps that’s why i’m a cat person… 😂   @dansup Jokes aside, did you move the water near his food? They don't tend to like it when the food and water are near each other. It makes sense if you think about it, I wouldn't drink from a pond near a carcass either. When in doubt, have several sources of water for him in different places.  |
