Someobe should make chromeOS-like distro of linux but with firefox and call it Out-Of-Fox Linux
Poorly drawn firefox logo in a poorly drawn box

Apparently, Plasma X11 is a lot WORSE than Wayland session. A lot of stuff works clunky, apps just take inputs and actions that system should have used, etc

I have hardware bug with Wayland glitching when waking from suspend/sleep state so I use X11 session on that laptop (one i codenamed white-rook), but I am not happy

My main loss during todays "my phone is randomly broken so I need to reflash rom" incident is the contents of an microsd I had to format (mostly Touhou music< that I currently recovering from backups of laptop partitions, and some old backups I didn't care about since I made new ones)

On the other hand, I installed KernelSU (comf and simple, just works, installed Zugisk and sui, but wasn't able to test SafetyNet yet) and MinMicroG (out of box Aurora Store/Droid are cool, but fdroid repos and goolag.store are borked today so I wasn't able to test it much too)

Time to finally watch Bocchi the rock during travel to finish it instead of forgetting like I have done when It was ongoing

Mahou Revolution is not worth it, I think, I kinda lost my initial entusiasm after a one completely borked episode

Open source chat software:

IRC - needs a ton of extensions to even try to work like a modern chat, no federation, idk didn't use it much

Mumble - no federation, need your own server to have a private talk since no encryption

ActivityPub/Fediverse DMs - No encryption, unreliable privacy, do not use for actual private conversations

XMPP - loses encrypted messages, there is like, one good client I saw

Matrix - doesn't have a good clients, loses encryption keys and generally very confusing in that regard

Telegram - not open source, shady, no encryption by default

Signal - Encrypted, pretty good, but not decentralised and requires phone number

Session - Bad UI/UX, unreliable, slow, buggy, fails at showing messages in proper order

SimpleX Chat - IDK what it is, seems to be better than Session with simmilar idea, but no audits and still bad UI

I decided to make Signal account recently, though

Decentralisation is nice, but working messenger would be a more important

If [insert modern website type] do need tracking ads to survive, where I can pay them so they will completely stop spying on me instead of only hiding ad banners?

I recommend to git clone source for Dolphin emulator on your local machine like people done with lockpick homebrew

Attacking emulator itself would be the most stupid idea nintendo could had, but just to be safe, nintendo is the one who already made several such aggressive moves and they have the legal scapegoat as their wii private key or something in source
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:
There is also list of lockpick homebrew mirrors people made https://codeberg.org/Lockpick/Mirrors and some of them already contain dolphin too

Sadly, such actions still hurt development of open source homebrew software

Is Fdroid repos (not only Fdroid but several side ones) down? I cannot access any of them from a newly installed fdroid client and directly from browser, but I can download apps from Fdroid website
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:
Aurora store, and google safetynet api also is not working for me, idk if it is related at all

My impressions of:

XFCE - Less fancy Cinnamon (it's the other way around but well). Standart Fedora config for it seems to be slightly confusing

Budgie - Pretty comf and I like the idea of unified side menu, but it scales really weirdly on my screen and probably doesn't work well with existing scrapes of settings it found from my kde install so I will need to try it later on a cleaner system or my other laptop

I will probably just go with Plasma for time being

What I don't like about KDE touchpad gestures is that there is no way to customize them properly

Like, I only have two touches recognition on one of my laptops, and most of gestures are not available for me here at all, except for firefox back/forward one (not kde native, just wayland feature availible on kde wayland)
Tired Bunny :bunhdcomfysleep:
My touchpad issue was actually me being stupid and accidentally disabling touchpad using function keys, lol

The one thing I keep Plasma Intgration Firefox Addon is bookmark search in krunner/overview search/app launcher search

I just press Meta(Super/Windows) key and type `udon`, press enter and get to using fedi

Nothing feels more surprisingly good than realizing that bugs that you had on your linux system just silently went away during some updates

I really feel like Japanese Fedi to English fedi has the biggest language barrier problem on Fedi in general

A lot of news regarding the state of Japanese part of the community just don't go to English part of the community despite Japanese fedi having a lot of important stuff like Misskey development and a lot of artists. Because of that, people like me who don't know Japanese are often left to guess what is happening (Like, I still can only guess who is Murakami-san)

And I think language barrier is the main reason forks like CalcKey and FoundKey were created

I like how (at least in the russian translation) Robbie says "Oh, I remembered, you need to press this and this and power button at the same time to unlock [camera feature on Purah Pad]", possibly refferencing how you need to hold unused button and power to exploit old (patched) hardware vulnerability in Switch (which Purah Pad is modeled after)

Random thoughts, don’t take seriously

- C/C++ is for cute anime girls
- Assembler is for trans (c/c++ would do too)
- Python is for solo players
- C# is for evil corporations
- Java is for tired office programmers
- Rust is for, maybe, edgy characters (you can guess thay are cool because they wear sunglasses because they use rocket emoji)
