I just finished (?) making an... big essay? (IDK how to translate реферат in english) using y thoughts as summaries of every chapter and then filling the rest of chapter contents with mostly AI-generated text.

AI chat bots, even LLaMA-based ones like Open Assistant are good at "Rewrite his one sentence claim as a big scientific text". What is bad is that this should not be useful in the world where schools and universities don't require unnecessarily big texts instead of small lists of points made or something

"Repost if you %1
...or you %2"
memes are ideal for people who are not sure which exactly condition they are fulfillng

Like, "Repost if you love pizza or you feel that world lost it's meaning for you" - I don't know mate, could be either one of them, I'll repost anyway

I didn't do what I planned for today, but at least I did what I planned for yesterday

Tip of the day:

If you for some reason think that generic isekai harem manga is not lewd enough, see no futher than generic chinese isekai harem manhua... Or cut the chase and just read hentai.

Сотворил вот эту брошурку(?) для универа, мне кажется что феди она зайдёт так что поделюсь (учтите что сделано это нечто очень поверхностно и в спешке)

I got making "flipbook" as university homework. It is basically "make and put pdf into online pdf viewer with flip pages effect", but there is surprisingly little open source tools for that.

It seems I can successfully host some forks of pdfjs on codeberg pages, so I have one idea that I would definitely share with fedi if I finish it

I really need to learn how to make livecd installers for ny linux distro (fedora fork) once my pre-exam weeks will be over

I really fell kinda tempted to instead try something like Arch as base with their archiso and stuff, but for my usecase arch would only be an option with SteamOS-like immutability and full-root-replacing updates

For some completely mysterious reason my c++ uni teacher gives our group completely ffed up tasks taken from depth of project euler or some other non-first-year-student-level handbooks for one freaking lesson (~1.5 hours)

Made a big cleanup of my rss feeds

Decided to delete a lot of spamy subscribtions that were too interesting in theory to unsubscribe immideately, but too much of articles per day to actually read

Also fuck twitter for changing their api to the point I can't see nsfw posts without an account at all, I conpletely lost ability to view artwork my favorite twitter-only artist

That thing with Monet theme engine in Android 13 is cool until you understand that accent colors just always fall into one of simmilar colors based on type of wallpaper you use

My accent color is almost always pink-ish red shades because my wallpapers are Touhou girls that have faces and skin and usually some red clothes/accessories.

System partition encryption in Fedora is actually pretty easy and painless

Only thing is that it requires me to enter the password twice on laptop startup, other than that I didn't notice any, idk, performance degradation (I constantly use power save mode in kde and it works very well still) or other inconvinience

Despite linux theming giving this insane ability to make it look the way you want no one really made anything better than MacOS/Windows/Some old OS clones and several material design-ish themes

I noticed I had forgotten how to code in python and decided to code in c++ when uni task required writing a simple code to then test it

Touhou facts:

Marisa is in fact popular with girls. She is chased by two young witches (for stealing their books) and some girls want to be just like her (she got impersonated by unnamed kitsune, unnamed tanooki and named tanooki)

Why is a lot of Mastodon users are so obsessed with things that "can be abused for harrassment" even without any real world example?

It was one of the reasonings to block instances like udongein - "but it is possible to "signal" bad posts" or something

This reasoning is now used for trying to say that full text search on public posts should be fediblockable because it can be abused for harrasement by keywords

If you take this reasoning you could really say that everything on fediverse can be abused - including "lack of markdown, MFM and html formatting in mastodon" (potentially can be used to subvert misskey/pleroma post meaning by screenshotting in mastodon then posted as screenshot to frame someone), "misskey emoji reactions" (can be used to make Mastodon person unknowingly push harmful content to akkoma and misskey users as something that he sees as favorite but actually is an custom image), "any post and reply" (could be used for harrasment, can be not screen reader friendly)

Features availible in software are not evil, but people can be, rember that :gyate_yuuka_rember:

I think it is mostly fine if this search only works on public posts and respects post deletion. I understand it may be misused, but almost every feature of Fediverse software can be misused as well, and I myself really think search of public posts is a useful feature for finding older posts that can contain useful information.

Making some flag for indicating of post should or should not be searchable by instances (not by search engines since already have an option in profile) in addition to content visibility would be nice, but well, only if someone would actually make it and search capable software would start respect it.
