@mcalel @HopelessDemigod agreed! I think part of the problem is people don't like "starting over", having to rebuild a following list takes time and effort, vs. that twitter feed they've built for over a decade, you know? I always tell folks, "Patience & follow liberally!"

@renwillis @HopelessDemigod I also see a lot of people who say they hate twitter, come here, then go back within like a week. I’m not sure what they miss from there. I had a large following in twitter but went here cus I liked more

@mcalel @HopelessDemigod It is jarring to go from a busy feed curated over years to over a decade to just…. Nothing. It takes some work to find people to follow, going down rabbit holes of good boosts to find more. It wasn’t until I really got a great group of people to follow that things started feeling like a home here. You know? I think a lot of people just don’t want to put in that work again. - let alone start from scratch on their own followers.

@renwillis @HopelessDemigod I guess I just didn’t like the attitude or behavior of people on twitter, I felt more at home here. I get where it coming from tho

@mcalel @HopelessDemigod Me too. But Twitter felt like this once too. Scale is the enemy of social networks, but I’m hopeful that a federation of thousands of β€œtwitters” is hopefully less shittification inducing than the shitshow most social networks become.
