Just signed up to https://kbin.social so I really hope Kbin takes off as a decentralised version of Reddit... If the APIs are similar... Maybe it could be a nice background project for you to convert Apollo to use Lemmy instead? Sure people would still pay for Ultra subscriptions!

I will be keeping up with your work (with my trusty Pixel Pal, Rory, by my side) and I will not be requesting a refund for the remainder of my subscription. I know it’s small, but it’s the best “thank you” that I can give. You fought a hard fight and provided us with the best Reddit app there ever was.

@christianselig Whenever you land on your next project besides Pixel Pals please announce it loud and proud so I can get in on the ground floor. Apollo was the first app I downloaded when I switched from Android to iOS due not only to how well maintained and beautiful it is but also how much love has been clearly put into it. Thank you for all you did the last eight years.

@christianselig This is an enormous loss. Apollo is far and away the most used app on my phone - it’s been on my dock for years. Sad to see it go, and utterly furious at the disgusting behavior of the Reddit management. Thank you for everything Christian!

@christianselig such a tragedy man. Apollo was my go-to Reddit client. It really sucks that Reddit is going down the tubes because of corporate greed. I hope the subreddits going dark make it permanent until Reddit either dies, or reverses their API changes.

@christianselig I just want to thank you for all the joy Apollo has brought me all these years. I met my girlfriend of six years on Reddit and we both consider Apollo to be THE way to access and enjoy all of what Reddit has to offer.

If Apollo disappears on June 30th so does my eight year old Reddit account. I’ve just purchased a lifetime subscription to Pixel Pals to show my appreciation and to wish you well on whatever life has in store for you.

@christianselig this really sucks, for you and all the other alternative apps. Mi goto app was "RIF reddit is fun" for Android. I used it for almost a decade. With this recent news, I decided to stop using reddit in support to you all, but also for my own mental health and productivity (it's addictive and mostly wastes my time).
