Ivory for Mac will be released tomorrow! We’ve decided to keep things simple as far as subscriptions go. If you paid for “Premier”, you’ll automatically get access to the Mac app as we have changed “Premier” to “Universal”. If you paid for “Pro”, you’ll get the same access to “iOS + iPadOS”. If you upgrade to “Universal”, your sub date will reset and you’ll be refunded the remainder of your Pro subscription. 299 comments

@ivory Congrats on the release! I know that it's early days and you all have a ton of things to get too, but I saw this truncated text on the subscription page immediately after downloading and thought it was a bit funny (especially since it was under the "Attention to Details" bullet 😝).

@trentshell Yep. We know. 🫣 Embarrassing, but with all the work that has been needed to be done to get this out, we are glad that's one of the bigger issues we missed. 😅

@ivory Congrats! Are you planning to add a monthly subscription for iOS + macOS versions? For some reason (I’m going to change country for my Apple ID), I can’t subscribe on the yearly basis, but I would love to subscribe to a monthly “Universal” subscription.

@ivory FYI seems like the upgrade from iOS only to iOS + macOS has to be done on an iOS device. I tired a couple of times on the Mac App store and it kept getting in a loop saying I was already subscribed, sign in to manage my subscription (13.3.1). Worked well on iOS though.

@michaelthec You mean the timeline filters that work on iOS and currently don't on the Mac? Not sure when yet. We really need to update that interface on iOS to be more modern which will make things work on the Mac.

@ivory Downloaded! Quick question - I noticed that I can only load ~200 toots at once with Ivory, so when I haven't logged in for a day or two, it takes a while to load the most recent toots. Is there a way to tell Ivory to go directly to the most recent toot?

@michael Unfortunately there's only one way to upgrade. Apple's way. When you upgrade through our app, Apple will refund you the pro-rated funds for the time you didn't use.

@klackerturm Yes it is very unfortunate. We tried our best to support 12 initially, but Catalyst is so new and there were too many issues with 12.

@purplelime Probably because you had the beta (TestFlight) version of the app before? If you go to your Mac system settings, search for "Subscription”, click on "Media and Purchases", and then “Manage" subscriptions, it will open the App Store to your list of subscriptions and Ivory should be in there with the correct date. If that's the case, I wouldn't worry about the date in the app. It should update at some point.

@ivory I love it! Except that if I create tabs, and I use cmd-W to close the window, they go away. Cmd-Q to quit and then reopen is fine; closing the window isn’t. Is there a way to snapshot my tab configuration?

@JJKrawczyk If your testflight version is .8 then get on the release because .8 won't be updated anymore. If you are on .9, it's totally up to you. The .9 version will get the latest updates usually a bit before we plan to push things to the app store for some final testing.

@ivory Wish Ivory was available for Monterey! 😭. I have the 2013 Mac Pro and sadly it’s starting to miss out on more and more (including Ventura). Guess I have more motivation to upgrade now…

@dominocollege Are you sure you didn't cmd-w to close the window instead? Cmd-h just hides the window and columns are saved then and if you quit the app. Currently we don't save when you close the window, but we plan to change that.

@ivory hi there! I'm a big fan of @ivory since the early beginning and was hoping for reasonable pricing for the mac app. The subscription to get the mac app is too expensive IMHO. I won't switch to the highest subscription tier for the mac app.
I'm a bit sad though.
