Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

Ivory for Mac will be released tomorrow!

We’ve decided to keep things simple as far as subscriptions go. If you paid for “Premier”, you’ll automatically get access to the Mac app as we have changed “Premier” to “Universal”.

If you paid for “Pro”, you’ll get the same access to “iOS + iPadOS”.

If you upgrade to “Universal”, your sub date will reset and you’ll be refunded the remainder of your Pro subscription.

@ivory Congratulations and best of luck with the launch!

J.A. Bell :verified_coffee:

@ivory Glad I paid for Premier ahead of time! The extra snacks were worth it.

Also love this graphic!

Neal PP

@ivory fantastic!! Been loving the beta!!!

Stuart Gibson

@ivory Is there a way to give you more money? I was assuming Mac would be a separate sub.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@stuart Universal sub will suffice. 🙂 But to answer your question, if you didn't do the Universal sub and paid for the regular sub for iOS and the Mac separately, you'd be paying slightly more than the bundled discount.

Kye Fox

@ivory @stuart @tootapp has some silly add-ons for people who want to give the developer more money. It's a good idea. :blobfoxcomfysip:

Axel Riemann 🪪

@ivory a bit confusing, sorry.
I haven’t paid any „Pro“, „Premier“, „Ultimate“, „V-Power“.
My AppStore subscription says „iOS + macOS Yearly Sub“. Soooo, that’s…
Universal? Pro? Premier?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@konqrunner We recently changed the names of the subs. They used to be Pro and Premier respectively. Now they are iOS + iPadOS and Universal (which includes Mac). Seems like you paid for Premier originally which means you have the Universal sub and can use the Mac app once released without changing anything.

Mufasa

@ivory @konqrunner

I wish the name change was highlighted in the toot. My confusion compounded with the current labels in iOS subscription management.

Ken Crandall

@ivory I don't see "Premier" or “Pro” and instead I have this (see pic.). I want to make sure I am at “Universal" (I want to support Tapbots 💯!)

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@kencrandall Premier and Pro were renamed to the current titles. You have the Universal sub so you are good to go!

Kevin McMurphy 🤔

@ivory @kencrandall Such a good way to handle it. Early belief means less admin :) Excited for tomorrow.

David Culley

@ivory Awesome! Will there also be a macOS-only option without iOS/iPadOS?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@davidculley Yes. It's the same price as iOS+iPadOS only. You'll see the option in the Mac app.

David Culley

@ivory Thank you for the macOS-only option 🙂

Scanner

@ivory yay. Glad I went for the “Premier” subscription because I really want the desktop app ASAP.

Bidouilleur

@ivory nothing better then the ‘kiss' principle. Congrats with the birth of little elephant Ivory on Mac

Aaron

@ivory Congrats on pivoting your business to an entirely new social network in ~6 months. It's truly astonishing and I wish you great long term success!

Jordan Krahn

@ivory instant upgrade from Pro to Premier. Like this approach!

Tom Moore

@ivory Terrific! Good luck with the launch!

OneWheelGeek

@ivory Awesome! I am so looking forward to it!

Andrea Grandi 🦕

@ivory hello folks, I’m confused too 😅 I have a monthly iOS subscription. I don’t see any Pro, Unicersal etc… Does it mean I get access to the MacOS Universal app too or not? Thanks

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@andreagrandi Currently you don't. You have 2 options. Upgrade to the bottom option or do a separate monthly Mac subscription (but you'll end up paying more that way).

@ivory I’d forgotten the Mac client was still in testing because it’s been so rock solid. Congrats on shipping!

Błażej

@ivory Regarding roadmap, under "Improved hashtags (search, following)" hides search pinning and # aggregation?

Błażej

@ivory on your rodemap there is a point "Improved hashtags (search, following)". I'm wondering if under that point falls the ability to save searched # as a new column (available in advanced view in web client) with an option to add another ones.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@icanswiftabit Yes something like that, but not exactly like the web.

Robert Male

@ivory Congratulations, thank you for both versions.

Steve Leighton

@ivory That’s a nice surprise, wasn’t expecting to have access to the Mac app. Looking forward to trying it soon!

Eshu Marneedi

@ivory Yay! Just subbed to the Universal subscription, can’t wait :)

Ernesto Monasterio

@ivory Do we have to wait until tomorrow in order to update to “Universal” and get the refund?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@prismamidi Totally up to you. If you upgrade to the Universal sub now, the Mac app will just work when you download it tomorrow.

Adam Whitcroft

@ivory dumb question but how do i know which tier i am? I just signed up for the yearly sub through app store

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@adam You can go to Ivory's settings, then "Manage Subscription”. Should take you to your sub page where you can see which Ivory Tier you are currently on.

Meroje

@ivory @adam not seeing any of those words but guess I should go for the last option ?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@Meroje Yes the bottom option is the Universal option for iOS+ iPadOS and macOS.

Jessica Dail

@ivory I paid the $1.99/month a few months back. Are these new prices subscriptions or 1-time fees?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@KE8UPE Ivory is only available as a subscription. If you are happy with Ivory, you are better off switching to one of the yearly options as you save a lot of money. Right now you will end up paying $24 for a year of iOS/iPadOS only. The yearly version of iOS/iPadOS is $15 and the yearly version of iOS/iPadOS/macOS (Universal) is $25.

dennis

@ivory is it really just the Premier / yearly one or is it also included in the monthly subscription?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@dnnsppp It's not included in the monthly. We figure customers who are convinced they will use Ivory for a longer term are better off paying for a year anyways as you save a lot more that way.

Oliver :mastodon: :piraten: 🇺🇦

@ivory Congratulations - switching to "Universal" then! Good luck with the re-start on macOS! 🎉

Kevin :maryland_badge:

@ivory nice premier/universal user 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

mattyg

@ivory glad I went with Premier. Keep up the great work, both apps are awesome!

Tom

@ivory Any new features or fixes in the release tomorrow compared to what is in Testflight now?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@xsan64 there should be. But might depend on which version of TestFlight you are on. Also iOS will get an update with some improvements to the media viewer.

Matt Marenic

@ivory does this release support Monetary on Intel chips?

Tenkoman

@ivory Will we get a mail with the instructions how to access the benefits - or will they happen automatically? (just a Pro user)

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@tenkoman Nothing changes unless you want to use the Mac version of the app too. If so, you can download the Mac app tomorrow and upgrade from the Mac app.

Tenkoman

@ivory Goody - I enjoyed the Testflight version of the Mac app and would greatly support it.

bazcurtis

@ivory I will be upgrading. Well done on the release.

malik

@ivory I’ve no idea what I’ve paid for. It’s a yearly subscription on iOS.

Enjoyed very much that there was only one affordable subscription for Tweetbot iOS/macOS.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@Malik Mac didn't have a sub. It was pay once. And that's also the reason why after a few years it stopped getting updates and then fell far behind the iOS version.

malik

@ivory to clarify: do I need to make another subscription for Ivory on the Mac even though I have a subscription for Ivory on iOS? I don’t see where I could choose between Premier and pro or something like that.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@Malik Just have to look at your current subscription level in the iOS subscription settings. (You can get there by going to the Ivory settings, and then "Manage Subs". One says iOS yearly, and the other says iOS + Mac yearly.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@goebelmeier @Malik Yup. So the one below the one you are currently on includes Mac. And if you do upgrade, Apple will refund the pro-rated amount back of unused time.

malik

@ivory Thanks for clearing that up!!

I’m a fan, still, I must say the €30 per year as a subscription, I find hefty.

I know, you have given it tons of thoughts and you need to feed your families. But there is something like subscription fatigue since everybody and their brother want a subscription for everything.
@goebelmeier

Aaron Hockley

@ivory When I go to subscriptions I see iOS Monthly, iOS Yearly, and iOS+macOS Yearly. I assume I just want to switch from iOS to iOS+macOS (I don't see anything about Pro or Universal)?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@techphotoguy Correct. We mention the term "Universal" if you sub within the app. Unfortunately the app store titles have to be very short.

zıəs uɐɟəʇs ✪

@ivory immediately updated to ios&mac. Ivory still shows the old expiration date. Just FYI.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@seiz Within the app or in the iOS subscription page? And are you running the iOS beta?

zıəs uɐɟəʇs ✪

@ivory within the app on iOS. Not running the beta anymore since I was removed from TestFlight.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@seiz tap on the "Manage subscription" button in our settings and it will take you to the sub section in the system settings. That should be the correct date?

zıəs uɐɟəʇs ✪

@ivory yes, that is correct. Just wanted to point out the discrepancy in the iOS app itself.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@seiz Yea the one in the system settings is correct. The one in the app still shows the beta expiration date. Not quite sure why if you aren't on the beta still. Maybe check the app store make sure you are running that version of Ivory.

zıəs uɐɟəʇs ✪

@ivory all clear. I had switched to the AppStore version on the phone, but not yet on the iPad, where I saw the wrong expiration. Now switched to the AppStore version on ipad too and all is well.
Sorry for the noise. Too any devices too little brain.

NukNuk

@ivory
It should be included in the “Pro” subscription. I was a tweetbot user and switched to Ivory, but there is less content and it’s more expensive……. I feel that the “Pro” subscription isn’t worth it now (no Mac client) and the Mac subscription doesn’t justify the cost.

@ivory Just upgraded to iOS + macOS! Now awaiting release! Can't wait!

@ivory : I’m ready to receive the Mac version ! 🐘 + 💻 = ✅

Andrew Laurence

@ivory so Premier is “All the things! Take my money!” ?

Jae Bloom

@ivory This is incredible news! So excited to see Ivory for Mac expanded to more users! Been using it for the last few months in TestFlight and it’s been incredible!

Chris

@ivory Any guidance what folks currently in TestFlight should do? Best to stay on for future testing, or plan to jump over to the Store version?

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@lindhartsen Depends on which testflight version you are on. The one for Mac that's at v0.8 will not get updates anymore (it's actually already a few builds behind). The testflight we are going forward with has both iOS and Mac on it.

hc

@ivory thank you! love the app and use it alot. I find it essential right now.

Davey Craney

@ivory Upgraded 👍
This app got me off Twitter and helped me explore Mastodon. Love the fact you publish your roadmap as well! Great to see what’s over the horizon. Can’t wait for instance browsing 😎

Boris

@ivory i have no idea what I am, but if I at the time I chose my sub just selected an option that shovels most money your way, I should be fine, right?

[DATA EXPUNGED]
Nigel ✅

@ivory Aaand upgraded to the Premier from Pro. Although it hit me for the full $39.99. Will see if there’s some type of credit for sub already paid.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@nygl yes Apple will refund you the pro-rated amount back of unused time. That’s how they designed sub upgrades to work. 🙂

Nigel ✅

@ivory Oh no, I have a bad feeling. My poor old 2009 Mac Pro only runs 'tweaked' Monterey. Don't tell me it's time for a new computer to run Ivory :)

Rainer Klute

@ivory I see no names like Premier or Universal. 🤔

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@rainerklute Those names are in the app. But Universal is the bottom one in that view. You subbed the Pro tier originally which is now called iOS yearly.

She smashes

@ivory always love how you go for simple and it’s why I’m such a long time supporter.

Can’t wait to smash that button tomorrow

Patrick

@ivory That’s some very decent pricing. I’ve never really used Mastodon on desktop, but I think I’ll have to try.

Bill Vinson

@ivory this was a great way to handle it! I’ve been enjoying the Mac version in TestFlight and can’t wait to grab the launched version

Felipe Coury 🦀

@ivory my subscription is still linked to Tweetbot, I can’t find anything for Ivory. How do I fix this? Thank you!

[DATA EXPUNGED]
Mark Igra

@ivory I’ve been using the beta for the last couple of days and it is the most polished Mastodon experience. Would love to have support for quote tweets & threading, but I'm gonna pay for it because it's so smooth and responsive.

Luka Manestar

Really love the #macos client, been using it in beta. Happy to see it roll out! @ivory

Denis

@ivory Very fair! I just checked and I am already Universal: Mac & iOS! Thanking past me for the foresight! 😊

Frank

@ivory
Were there multiple subscriptions before? Confused....

Sebastian Celis

@ivory Congratulations!

Does the release version have a way to show the number of unread posts in a red badge on the dock icon? That’s a feature I really find myself missing from TweetBot on macOS.

David Harrison

@ivory No Max in Canada. Guess I'll just have to stick with the iOS/iPad OS version... 😉
