Quick question - I noticed that I can only load ~200 toots at once with Ivory, so when I haven't logged in for a day or two, it takes a while to load the most recent toots. Is there a way to tell Ivory to go directly to the most recent toot?

@ivory Hello, I just tried on the macOS version now and had to double click 4 times on home (waiting for download between each double clicks) to get to the most recent toot. First double click loaded about 398 toots, then approx 180 for the other double clicks.

@trusttrist Need more details. What timeline were you doing this on? Ivory will pull thousands of posts on a refresh, but your network speed and server's current load could make a difference. The Local and Federated timelines can fill very fast and take some time if you haven't updated for days, but doesn't seem like yours is that case.

You can email us using the contact us button in our app settings which will send us any error logs that might help us figure out what's going on.

Just tried the Local and Federated sections, the instantly load to the most recent toot. The Home section loads where I left the app before and then I need to double click many times to reach the most recent toot.

@trusttrist Sounds good. Write a quick description of what you are experiencing too. It will help. After you send it, try going to your account settings and hitting the "Clear account cache" button and see if that solve the problem for a bit.

@trusttrist Yea the mail app is required for the crash/error logs to be sent. Without those, your email won't be very helpful.

@ivory If I've already purchased an annual subscription to the iOS version a few weeks ago, can I somehow upgrade to the ‘Universal' version by paying only the difference?

@michael Unfortunately there's only one way to upgrade. Apple's way. When you upgrade through our app, Apple will refund you the pro-rated funds for the time you didn't use.

@klackerturm Yes it is very unfortunate. We tried our best to support 12 initially, but Catalyst is so new and there were too many issues with 12.

@ivory there seems to be a discrepancy in my iOS + macOS Yearly subscription term. On iOS it shows my sub expires 24th March 2024 (correct) but on macOS it says 12th August 2023. Thanks for any help!

@purplelime Probably because you had the beta (TestFlight) version of the app before? If you go to your Mac system settings, search for "Subscription”, click on "Media and Purchases", and then “Manage" subscriptions, it will open the App Store to your list of subscriptions and Ivory should be in there with the correct date.

If that's the case, I wouldn't worry about the date in the app. It should update at some point.

@ivory yeah I used to have the beta which I removed. I checked the subscription via Mac App Store as you suggested and it says next billing date for Ivory is 31st January 2024. So yes I think I’ll just leave it for now and hope it adjusts itself in time. Thanks!

Except that if I create tabs, and I use cmd-W to close the window, they go away. Cmd-Q to quit and then reopen is fine; closing the window isn’t. Is there a way to snapshot my tab configuration?

@JJKrawczyk If your testflight version is .8 then get on the release because .8 won't be updated anymore. If you are on .9, it's totally up to you. The .9 version will get the latest updates usually a bit before we plan to push things to the app store for some final testing.

@dominocollege Are you sure you didn't cmd-w to close the window instead? Cmd-h just hides the window and columns are saved then and if you quit the app. Currently we don't save when you close the window, but we plan to change that.

@lewin It is built with Catalyst! But it's not just flicking a switch like Apple seems to advertise. It takes tons of work to get things to work well on the Mac.

The iOS app still doesn't allow the users to switch languages, so it's rather unusable outside the English-speaking world. When is this basic feature coming?

@katerberg It depends on which subscription tier you originally purchased. If you go to Ivory's settings on your phone and then tap on the Manage Subscription button, it should take you to your sub details in the OS Settings. If you are on the iOS + iPad OS tier, you will need to upgrade. If you are on the iOS + macOS tier, it should work.

@katerberg The Mac app was always going to be a separate subscription with a bundled discount option. You can upgrade if you want on the Mac app if you click on the “Upgrade to Universal” option. Your subscription start date will reset and Apple will refund the pro-rated amount of unused time on your old subscription.
