Despite what you read, Mastodon by years end will gain more users than Twitter. Twitter has lost millions of users since Musk took over the company. Twitter has become Elon Musk’s personal platform to express his Republican, right wing political views. He controls the narrative.

@atomicpoet It's just bad reporting. A quick read of Discord's WP page would have cleared up the confusion for them. (Well, maybe.) But they're half right. Individual Discord 'servers' ("guilds" in the backend lingo) are a lot like subreddits, in that they're part of the whole system, but (mostly) run by non-company users. But any similarity to Mastodon stops there. This reporter clearly didn't get it. Discord likely borrowed this usage from WoW, which works similarly.
