The subtextual implication seems to be, "Decentralized services result in abusive trolls that aren't moderated."

Well, seeing how they're reporting on Discord as the vector of abuse, and Discord is *actually* centralized, that undermines their argument.

Twitter is the same way. And so is Instagram.

See a trend here?

@atomicpoet Everything old is new again... remembering 'communist' Linux and open source. The corporate class knows a threat to their business model when they see one.

@atomicpoet

I assumed Mastodon would have moderation problems when I first joined.

It's the best moderation I've ever seen. Vastly better than corporate platforms.

@atomicpoet when it comes to discord. It depends on the server. Most of the time you going to run across a decent staff team. But everyonce in a blue moon. There will be a discord server that problematic. -a mod that tends to run strict rules for my servers and follow strict guidelines.

@atomicpoet Since they also bring up Reddit I assume they confuse decentralization with separate closed group forums. But then again those also exist on Facebook.
