Some of you with active subscriptions have reported issues with the app thinking you aren't subscribed or unable to "Restore Purchases" on another family device. This is because Apple is currently having some issues with Receipt Verification. We will try to fix this temporarily on our end until Apple sorts the issue out. Thanks for your patience!

@ivory I wonder if their receipts going down his wife my wife can’t watch The Last of Us on the Apple TV.

@ivory right, I payed twice your year subscription when one of my family member installed Ivory from App Store. I don't know how to recover my money.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@spla If you are indeed subscribed from 2 different accounts in a family, you can request a refund on one of them from here: reportaproblem.apple.com/?s=6

After that, just make sure you use the "Restore Purchases" button on other devices part of your family. It should check for the Ivory sub on any of your family devices and then just work.

@spla Also worth noting that if you just subscribed on another device, you probably haven't been charged yet. All new subs start with a 7 day free trial. So check that in your subscription settings. Might just have to cancel the sub from there and be done.

spla :senyera: :vim:

@ivory subscribed after 7 day free trial so already charged twice.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@spla Okay. Then yea you can request a refund on one account with the link I sent. Apple will refund it in a day or 2.

@ivory any particular reason why as every day goes by, my drafts fill up with messages I have already sent? (And I’ve verified that they’re indeed posted. And if I delete these, more will appear the next day)

@ivory Glad it’s not just me! I was definitely thinking about asking if this was a bug with the TestFlight beta… My iPhone stays subscribed but my iPad doesn’t.

larick 😎

@ivory I was temporarily not subscribed when the app updated yesterday but it quickly reverted to subscribed

@ivory Thanks for posting about this. I'd seen it with another app, but hadn't had time to dig in yet.

@ivory I have encounteredthis issue with Ulysses.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@meow Not sure. Did you try to post something? Did it have an image or video attachment?

Also, you are ware you have a timeline filter active? Just checking because that's what the small circle in the search icon means. 🙂

Meow

@ivory I was trying to post a picture (taken with iPhone) with a short description, but that error kept popping up which blocked posting. A screenshot seems okay however.

Yes I’ve been using the feature to hide boosts (sorry to guys I follow).

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@meow Did you take the photo from within our app or just pulled it from your camera roll? And what kind of photo was it? RAW? Portrait Mode? Probably shouldn't matter, but just trying to see what we could test.

Meow

@ivory It was from the Camera Roll. Just a normal picture of food (lossy HEIC) slightly enhanced by the built-in Pictures app. I didn’t encounter that kind of issues when posting pictures as of 3 February.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@meow Ok. The error code itself is from your web instance. But if you use the "contact us" button in the support section of our app settings, it will send us txt files of any error logs you have encountered and we could fix the issue if it is something on our end. It could potentially just be a temporary issue with your instance server.

Meow

@ivory Thanks so it might be the instance-side issue. I emailed the logs too.

@ivory I encountered this problem, or something like it, when I tried to Restore Purchases on my iPad after subscribing on my iPhone.

In my case, although it gave me an error making me think it hadn’t worked, force-closing Ivory then opening it again showed it had picked up I had subscribed.

I’d meant to report it but it went clean out of my mind in the excitement of exploring Ivory and Mastodon. Sorry!

Adam Fortuna

@ivory Thanks for posting this. Yesterday I was working on my first iOS app and receipt verification kept failing. It was th fist time I’d ever done receipt verification, so I assumed it was just me. 😅 I was getting frustrated but now I have a lot more hope!

Mike Cohen

@ivory I had that on my iPad yesterday. Reverting to the App Store version seemed to fix it.

Sean C.

@ivory seen this across several apps and subscriptions the past couple of days

LeScoob

@ivory thank you for being a great group of people.

@ivory I've been struggling with this with my app since yesterday. That page lists the outage as resolved now. I had some errors when I just retried, but was able to make purchases/restores again from my app (and haven't been able to since Monday night).

Jeroen

@ivory good to know! I was experiencing this on the iPad.

Joshua Leto

@ivory

Yes, three other apps gave me this warning but have recovered.

@ivory I had the same problem a day or two ago; I was subscribed on my iPhone, but not on my iPad, even though I could see the subscription in my Settings. What worked for me was to delete Ivory on my iPad and then re-download and install it. During that process, it asked if I wanted to keep the subscription (yes!), and then everything worked fine.

Berbyq

@ivory My wife is a new user having her own Apple ID. Will she be able to use my subscription?
When I go to her settings/manage subscription, it sends me to Forecast Bar weather app.
Where is the Restore Purchase option for her to try?
Thanks.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@berbyq As long as you are both in a family group setting on iCloud. You have to install Ivory on the other device and on the subscription page, choose the “Restore Purchases" option.

Berbyq

@ivory Thanks very much for your rapid response. I do see that her Subscription is active in the Family.

Abhinav Sidhu

@ivory still have this issue!? When will this be resolved ??? cc @pankajkapoor

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@abhinav_sidhu Is that testflight? You have to subscribe in testflight too. It's not a real subscription.

Abhinav Sidhu

@ivory no! native app, logged off n logged in, issue resolved for now, thanks
Happy to TestFlight thou :)

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@abhinav_sidhu Glad it's fixed. Apple was having certificate issues for the last few days and that must have been the reason.

Benjamin Carlsson

@ivory I subscribed thinking I hadn’t yet, how can I know if I have a duplicate sub now? I do only see one receipt in my inbox so maybe it’s just a coincidence my trial expired during the outage, but I’d like to make sure.

Ivory by Tapbots :emoji_wink:

@ben You can only have 1 sub of an app per Apple account. So if you think you subbed 2x from your same Apple ID, I wouldn't worry.

Michele Neylon

@ivory any fix for this? I paid for an annual sub and now cannot use it
