Voting ended 20 Nov 2022 at 19:16. @dnsprincess These poll results are the most culturally-Mastodon thing Iβve ever seen π @dnsprincess I am somewhat surprised with responses so far. :blobfoxcute: @dnsprincess wow this is the most fellow #Firefox users Iβve seen in one place for a very long time. My people! π @dnsprincess Firefox on the phone, Vivaldi on my own laptop, Firefox on the work machine @dnsprincess I'm a devout @Vivaldi user, as it's probably the most customisable browser I've ever used. Plus, on Android it has the option for the address bar at the bottom of the screen. ππ» @dnsprincess Safari here! (Also Firefox when being forced to use anything other than a Mac. ) @dnsprincess I just recently switched to Brave. I know its anti-tracking tools are working because the ads I see make no sense anymore. @dnsprincess I was using firefox for the longest time, but I switched to brave. So far so good. Waterfox is pretty good too, but too early days for my comfort. @dnsprincess I use BOTH chrome and firefox. Chrome is good for casual browsing, and firefox for extracting links for saving to the wayback machine. @dnsprincess I use Samsung's browser for my phone and tablet. I'm not sure if that's actually just chrome or not... @dnsprincess I use Google, Brave, and Duck Duck Go. Yet I somehow managed to accidentally hit Firefox on your poll. Oops! @dnsprincess i split between chrome and firefox for home and firefox and edge at work (used to also have chrome at work, but WFH is a blessing in many ways) @dnsprincess Chrome & Firefox - Although company policy is trying to edge Edge into the picture. @dnsprincess Arc Browser (as of last week, until then it was Firefox for several years) @dnsprincess I'm glad to see Firefox represented so strongly here, but I suspect there may be some selection bias at play π @dnsprincess duck duck go , chrome a little. I do like Firefox too... I haven't heard of most of these browsers. @dnsprincess used to use Firefox but recently moved to Arc (chromium based) and really enjoyed it. @dnsprincess I use multiple. For privacy reasons, I will never use an Android/Google phone, so my single -- reasonable - option is Safari. I absolutely refuse to use Opera. That they're integrating TikTok should be a red flag to anyone. Brave? Hell, no. Cryptopeddlers can burn. Firefox? Sometimes, and for specific purposes, but I can't give a rational explanation of why I don't much like it. --> Part 2 coming Safari - I enjoy the UI, and the integration with iOS. I don't enjoy that Webkit is lagging in features and compatibility, nor do I enjoy the limited extensions. Edge? I don't have any computers capable of running Windows, and I don't see why I should even evaluate it on MacOS. Chrome? Well. After Opera went to hell and Blink, I've felt forced to use it. I hate myself for doing so, and I'm transitioning away. --> See Part 3 Where does that leave me? My old boss, and many of my former coworkers: Vivaldi I think @jon and the Vivaldi team has the correct idea about what the internet should have been, and what it should be. If I have one reluctance against Vivaldi, it's being only half open source. I can understand the model,. since Jon needs to feed employees, without being stoln by some random on GH. In my ideal world, Vivaldi's vision would be a nonprofit with sustainable donation funding. @dnsprincess I started using Edge a few months ago and I like it alot. Lower memory utilization than Chrome, easy to set up work and personal profiles, and can turn any app into an app. My only complaint is having to debingify it. Safari on iOS for the same reasons. @dnsprincess π Safari under "Other" and "See results only". By the way, I voted Firefox :firefox: π @dnsprincess TBH I realize I should have selected βotherβ because while Firefox is my preferred browser on a computer, I canβt use it full time on my phone because of issues with text size accessibility. Which means Safari for most things on mobile, with Firefox, chrome, and Firefox focus thrown in As Needed. (Before anyone @ s me on that, I KNOW android Firefox lets you change font size. That doesnβt solve iOS Firefoxβs issues) @dnsprincess I answered Brave because I use it on my phone. But I use many: Brave on my phone, FF mostly on my PC, Chrome for schoolwork (shoutout to Canvas app!) on PC and laptop, and Edge for work because of app dependencies there. @dnsprincess Opera GX It's such an amazing browser! @dnsprincess pc or mobile? I voted for my pc browser (firefox, or sometimes librewolf) because none of the browsers I use on my tablet is listed here @dnsprincess safari when I can (iOS/iPadOS/macOS) and chrome when I canβt (windows/linux) @dnsprincess multiple browsers depending on what I'm doing and what my needs are at the moment @dnsprincess @dnsprincess I believe you can set polls to be approval voting by the way! Not everyone will just be using one browser for one task! @dnsprincess I use more than one, and it's close as far as usage. So picked the one I use at work. No Lynx? :) @dnsprincess I picked Microsoft Edge because thatβs my primary browser with my laptop, but I also use Safari and Google Chrome. Safari when Iβm on my phone, and Chrome when Iβm on my desktop π€·π»ββοΈ @dnsprincess Firefox on PC, Safari on iPhone/iPad Tho if Apple ever released Safari for Linux Iβd probably go for it. Safari for Windows used to be awesome when it was a thing, itβs sad it was killed. Itβs UI was so pretty too. |
