@Gargron Is there a way to make your post only available to your corner without going out on to the federated feed? I mean, some topics are sensitive to certain groups and would not want to discuss them publicly. Just curious.

@K5GLH @Gargron afaik that's what the "unlisted" setting is for. At the bottom of your text field is a stylized earth symbol. Click that and you have options about who sees your toot. (Next to it is the button to use Content Warnings/Notes, then the emoji of your instance)

In the mastodon web app, you can set the post privacy on a per post basis. You could constrain it to your followers, or even only people you've mentioned. Outside of that, you might be able to get away with generating a new account on your instance without anyone following you, and turn on the 'Require Followers Requests' to limit who can see the posted images outside of your instance.

@K5GLH @Gargron yes, you can do that for every single toot. You are able to choose whether to de-list (so your toot just appears in the timeline of your instance), to answer only to your followers, or even directly adress just another person. I am not sure about all available apps, but using Tusky, you use the globe icon in order to choose the desired option.
