free reminder: if you find yourself in a situation where something is on the tracks and there's a train coming, get off the rails and run parallel/diagonal to the tracks toward the train. objects behave unpredictably when this magnitude of inertia is at play. one place they never go is a quarter mile against the direction of travel.
