@neauoire I shouldn’t be surprised by the Toha Heavy Industries

@tty we might leave cell tower range tomorrow tho, so I'm not sure I will be able to update for the next 2-3 days.

@tty that's so exciting!! I'm really happy for you :) free from the clasp of landlordship and your inconsiderate neighboors. If we come down through the inside passage, maybe we can stop by the sunshine coast to see you on your new home :)

@tty Oh! Okay :D Is it something that you can put on deck? Or, a full on sailing dinghy that you need to keep in a club?

[DATA EXPUNGED]
Devine Lu Linvega replied to DELETED

@tty ah yeah okay I know those :) You can't drag these around, but we've anchored in bays near sailing schools and they zip around, looks like a lot of fun!

@tty Put it on deck between destinations, and use it to carry water and supplies.

@neauoire @rek I frequently tell the fabulist story of George Vancouver naming Marrowstone Island after the familiar feeling of skulls crunching underfoot and Desolation Sound because he was in a pissy mood that day.

Day 10: Galley Bay, Desolation Sound -> Refuge Cove, Desolation Sound

Devine Lu Linvega

Desolation is really desolate outside of summer, we don't encounter anyone anywhere.

@klardotsh It's nice, we've been here in peak motorboat activity season, and it's like.. you don't see any birds, all the wildlife runs away to hide from that all noise.

R E K replied to Devine Lu Linvega

@neauoire @klardotsh yea, I was gonna say, being at Refuge Cove at peak madness isn't any better. It's a such a fucking mess XD... (there's 4 hours of free courtesy moorage to run errands, so the constant shuffling, and ensuing wakes, makes it crazy).

ruby0x1 replied to Devine Lu Linvega

@neauoire look up tonight at the northern lights yea?

Devine Lu Linvega replied to ruby0x1

@ruby0x1 for sure! There's no light pollution up here, we might be able to see them 🤞

ruby0x1 replied to Devine Lu Linvega

@neauoire almost for sure, it's so strong today, seeing them all over where unusual I think! I'll try anyway from vancouver but alas 😅

Devine Lu Linvega replied to ruby0x1

@ruby0x1 I hope you get to see some as well! Will report back tomorrow : )

ruby0x1 replied to Devine Lu Linvega

@neauoire while not super bright to the naked eye cos of city lights, they were visible and I could easily see them vividly with a phone camera

Devine Lu Linvega replied to Tim

@tim_lavoie We'll be coming up quadra tomorrow to wait for yocultas : )

@tty it has been many long and exhausting days. We're looking forward for a few days of calm weather that we can stay put and relax. It's nice to see the waypoints on a map like this <3

[DATA EXPUNGED]

@tty It's an artery for people transiting to the north of BC. There's ferries, cruise ships, and lots of tugs pulling log booms.

Artsun

@neauoire What does the writing on the boom mean? Is it something like the sailmaker's signature, or something you've added?

Also, safe travels 𓊝

Devine Lu Linvega

@artsun it means TOHA Heavy Industries. It's a faction in the manga Blame
