@Flux we passed you yesterday! I looked up at the little house on the hill wondering if you could see us. We're heading to Galliano in a few minutes. @neauoire well that's my terrible timing! I really should catch up with you folks during the part of the year you're local!

@tty everything is purring softly, all the time fixing up the rigging this winter paid off. We stopped in Sidney and got a big Alaska cruising guide, I'm leafing through as we crawl toward Galliano : ) Gorgeous blue skies and good enough wind to sail since we untied the lines. Very different than our usual leaving in a downpour

@tty once we go through Hole In The Wall, that'll probably be the end of comms until we check out of Canada I think.

@tty we might leave cell tower range tomorrow tho, so I'm not sure I will be able to update for the next 2-3 days.

@tty that's so exciting!! I'm really happy for you :) free from the clasp of landlordship and your inconsiderate neighboors. If we come down through the inside passage, maybe we can stop by the sunshine coast to see you on your new home :)

@tty Oh! Okay :D Is it something that you can put on deck? Or, a full on sailing dinghy that you need to keep in a club?

@tty ah yeah okay I know those :) You can't drag these around, but we've anchored in bays near sailing schools and they zip around, looks like a lot of fun!

@tty Put it on deck between destinations, and use it to carry water and supplies. Desolation is really desolate outside of summer, we don't encounter anyone anywhere.

@klardotsh It's nice, we've been here in peak motorboat activity season, and it's like.. you don't see any birds, all the wildlife runs away to hide from that all noise. @neauoire @klardotsh yea, I was gonna say, being at Refuge Cove at peak madness isn't any better. It's a such a fucking mess XD... (there's 4 hours of free courtesy moorage to run errands, so the constant shuffling, and ensuing wakes, makes it crazy). @ruby0x1 for sure! There's no light pollution up here, we might be able to see them 🤞 @neauoire almost for sure, it's so strong today, seeing them all over where unusual I think! I'll try anyway from vancouver but alas 😅 @ruby0x1 I hope you get to see some as well! Will report back tomorrow : ) @neauoire while not super bright to the naked eye cos of city lights, they were visible and I could easily see them vividly with a phone camera @tim_lavoie We'll be coming up quadra tomorrow to wait for yocultas : ) |
Day 1: Inner Harbor, Victoria -> Tsehum Harbor, Sidney
