@nikitonsky Swiss French keyboard is the same, with more diacriticals, [] and {} end up in weird places. You get used to it, and I’m coding in C++/Swift.

@nikitonsky That's a pet peeve of mine - when WYSIWYG systems (Mac, Windows) started adopting the Copy/Copy/Paste/Undo paradigm, a German system should have used ctrl-y instead of ctrl-z because the idea of the design was to have all the shortcuts close by the ctrl key. And I still modify the keymap on my Mac systems (with German kbd) so that I can undo with cmd-Y for that reason.

@nikitonsky I'm baffled by the way you use the keyboard.
I was only one time more baffled by tje wqy someone used an input device, when the german textbook showed a kid hold a gamecube controller, supporting it from below with it's entire palm (unable to access any buttons or triggers) and used the other hand from above to manipulate all of the face buttons and the sticks, likely unable to hit z or R or L in a timely manner, and not without letti g go of the analog stick, the c-stick, start, A, B, X and Y.

That's odd indeed, but the least problematic thing about the German keyboard layout. More so are the locations of "special characters", ones that a software developer you use on very non special circumstances: `|/\[] {} to name a few.
