Absolutely ridiculous. The clump of brain cells behind Brands Town, Spectra Video, We Distribute, and VidCommons. Former CM @ Diaspora. I love Ween, adventure games, and the Fediverse.
Just a friendly reminder that #WeDistribute is ad-free and paywall-free, and that we're trying to raise funds to cover operating costs and, in the future, possibly start paying authors for their articles.
Every time @dansup releases a new #Pixelfed feature, I think "Oh great, I could write a good article about that!", and then he releases like four more things.
But for real, this is low-key a cry for help. Except it's a happy cry.
We need all the help we can get - writing articles, sourcing interesting news, giving us tips about stuff going on, providing insight and knowledge on the deep inner workings of the network.
Come be a part of this thing we're building. #WeDistribute
Thank you so much to @jdp23 for putting together a fantastic write-up of the trans, queer, and non-binary people who have contributed so much to the #fediverse :better_pride:โ
I wrote our first Opinion piece in response to @gruber 's own perspectives on the negative reactions a good chunk of the #fediverse has towards Meta's impending presence here.
Got an opinion piece of your own for our site? Reach out!
I made a similar post on Lemmy the other day, but I figure it might as well be shared here, too.
A decent amount of you may be familiar with wedistribute.org, my old news publication that's been floating around in one form or another since 2014. For those that aren't familiar, We Distribute is a blog publication that reports on the various developments of the #Fediverse - as a bonus, the blog itself federates with the rest of the network, and people can remotely comment from the network itself.
After recovering and reconstructing as many articles as I could find, I'm very close to relaunching the thing. The network is growing at an eye-watering rate, and the sheer amount of platforms, protocol developments, and projects (technical or otherwise) is frankly overwhelming.
I believe one of the biggest mistakes I made with this project in the past is that I did everything by myself, and didn't optimize enough for team collaboration. I want to put my best foot forward prior to the relaunch by working together with a bunch of writers and coming up with cool new articles. I can't offer money for articles for the time being, but I can offer a unique opportunity to report on a unique niche of the Internet in a publication that has very few others like it.
Anyway, this is getting a bit long-winded, but...if you'd like to volunteer and write an article, or two, or five, or to your heart's content, I would be thrilled to work with you. There's so many amazing things happening here that people need to know about. #WeDistribute

My lady and I are officially tying the knot next month! ๐ On January 21st, 2023 (that's 01/21/23), Miss Danielle B and I will be husband and wife. ๐ฅฐ
I'm so excited for this next step in our relationship.
That sounds great! But if Christa and I were to marry now, nobody would come... most probably not even my son. ๐ Too much of an anticlimax, though we're not actually ruling it out.
BREAKING: WeDistribute.org is being transferred back to my ownership, for an impending imminent relaunch of the news publication dedicated wholly to the #fediverse and libre/decentralized communication tech.
We Distribute is notable for the fact that it's a publication that itself integrates with the fediverse through #ActivityPub, allowing anyone that's reading from the stream to comment directly from their own social platforms of choice.
I want to do things right this time, and make it way easier for other people interested in blogging about this emerging space. If you are interested in writing articles for a fledgling publication dedicated to the fediverse, please reach out!
