I remember when Minecraft Forge used to distribute downloads through some even dodgier version of ad.fly that distributed malware, so I made a forum post warning of the dangers of it and it got deleted by a mod so I reported the mod and it got closed by the same mod (What's the point of a mod report button if the same mod can administer it?).

Glad the Minecraft modding community is looking a lot healthier these days, it was pretty toxic back then.

There's 20,000+ instances and new ones every day, there's NO WAY to tell who is accessing your posts or what they're doing with them.

Fediverse is not some kinda "bastion for privacy" nor is there any sort of "consent" required to see your posts if they are public.

The only way you can be 100% sure that your followers are the only ones that directly see your posts is to make your profile and posts private. Even then, screenshots exist.

Remember, you're on the internet. Once you post it, it's probably not going away. This is true everywhere.

Makes me think of the, "In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decree..." poem.

Hold on. I had to go look it up. Coleridge. All I ever remember of that poem is the note explaining that he attempted to transcribe it directly from a dream but was interrupted. I felt I could relate to that in my younger days. I held an idea that creativity was mysterious and dreamlike and had to be captured. I no longer hold that view. Dreams are great inspiration though.

Что ж, хотелось бы сказать, что вкладка «Посты» в разделе «Обзор» отравлена.

Алгоритм ранжирует посты на основе популярности постов во всей известной федерации, в итоге туда выводятся американоцентричные посты, которым по-хорошему на нашем инстансе делать нечего, разве что по касательной, но точно не в «Трендах» инстанса.

Да, где-то там тамошнюю политику и надо обсуждать, но явно не нам. К тому же, за счёт другого культурного фона у меня мнение о постах западных авторов выходит скорее противоположное. Я, конечно, стараюсь в это не встревать, настроил фильтр, отправляю всех встречных авторов западной политоты в игнор

...но у меня такое чувство, что они не иссякают, и теперь отправка в игнор — очередная работа для меня в мастодоне, которую никто не увидит, и никто мне за неё не заплатит. В итоге — понижается интерес к мастодону.

Я, конечно, создал ишшуй на гитхабе для этой проблемы, но решат ли его — я не уверен.

В Plasma 6.1 подтянули скругления углов на разных кнопочках и других UI элементах. Оно теперь везде равняется 5, а не вразброс как раньше.

To be fair, it's not really new on Windows either. Not sure if that was already introduced with Win8, but Win10 definitely had ads for stuff from Windows Store (like Candy Crush or Disney+) in the start menu

@gamingonlinux Progress. I'm still pissed at Nvidia for blocking the combination of Windows Remote Desktop + OpenGL, a combination often used in the medical space, then demanding you get Quadros to get that feature.
One of many reasons the relationship to FOSS could be boiled down to youtube.com/watch?v=iYWzMvlj2R for the past decade.
