It's so frustrating to see Microsoft copy inventions from the Linux world and act like they're new. Ads in the start menu? Come on, we had that in Ubuntu back in 2012 already, you're late to the party *again*.

Okay, this is officially the dumbest reason anyone ever gave Catima a 1 star review. Not being able to find a feature that already exists that I put a huge button for happens every now and then, but that's forgiveable, because I'm not an UX expert and I'm probably building my app flow in a slightly confusing way. But using some permission viewer and screaming an app is insecure because it *exports a permission to ensure other apps need to ask permission to access your data* is just stupid.

I really really hate it when people use tools they don't understand and hastily come to completely wrong conclusions and then punish others for their lack of research. I'm sure this person meant well but they're only causing damage like this. And it happens so often that people who mean well cause damage by not knowing what they're doing. It's frustrating.

@SylvieLorxu@chaos.social My apologies, maybe I don't understand... Wouldn't that be doxxing even cis devs?

This is your occasional reminder that F-Droid really isn't slower in publishing updates than Google Play. Pushed the update to Google Play, tagged for F-Droid immediately after. So Google Play even got a slight headstart because Google Play got notified, F-Droid had to detect the update itself. Yet Catima 2.19.0 is live on F-Droid, but still waiting on Google Play. Google Play bonus: they're currently yelling at me to fill in a Data Safety Form I filled in and they approved months ago.

To be fair, it's not really new on Windows either. Not sure if that was already introduced with Win8, but Win10 definitely had ads for stuff from Windows Store (like Candy Crush or Disney+) in the start menu

Being late to the Party is Microsoft best Product strategy so far. 😅

@SylvieLorxu don't remind me of that abomination. That's when unity started going downhill.
