 @samhenrigold It is too late as USA switched sides in the cold war. You need to teach Bundesnachrichtendienst how to do it.   I know things in NYC are bad right now. Our mayor sucks. Prospect Park is making the air taste like emphysema. The other thing that happened last week. But within the next few days, brokers fees very well might become a thing of the past https://gothamist.com/news/goodbye-broker-fees-bill-shifting-costs-from-nyc-renters-could-get-november-vote  @samhenrigold the broker's still gonna get paid and whether the money goes from the renter directly to the broker or through the property owner first won't really make a difference 🤷 The effect with rent caps might last a couple of years, but you can bet that afterwards rents will be relatively higher than before. Is there a reminder bot on here? The bulletin of the atomic scientists have previewed their 2025 doomsday clock and it's worrying: i don’t mind doing laundry but god i hate having to eat the stuff in the lint filter after. it tastes awful. i wish i could just throw it out but then i wouldn’t meet my environmental goals

 @samhenrigold Personally, I just craft it into voodoo dolls and burn them as needed. Smells pretty good, and burns so bright!  heres my review of the new mac mini, which just fell off my desk and hit my head while i was doing cable management: it hurt

NEW EPISODE: Season 5 Episode 3 of 'Explore Explain', a 📺🎧 series of long-form data visualisation conversations. I chatted with Natalie Erdem to learn about how TWO-N created the dynamic 'big board' visualisations for MSNBC's live TV election coverage https://visualisingdata.com/2024/06/explore-explain-s5-e3-natalie-erdem/ Watching MSNBC tonight and got curious about the "big board". I was trying to figure out if it was some kind of Linux app or a windows application on a white-labeled Surface Hub. Turns out, it's a web app! Mapbox + D3. Which also tracks with some of the design decisions for the web app itself. Gestures are notoriously a pain on the web, and this software doesn’t use gestures for anything beyond drawing annotations. Even things that would make sense as drag gestures are explicit buttons. |
