@gamingonlinux From your experience playing it both ways, for someone who loved HL, HL2, and the episodes but never bought into VR, is it worth playing this way? @gamingonlinux this is not worth it at all. Without significant changes to the scale and gameplay loop, this game will not work at all. It's mostly because it is designed from ground up for vr without any compromises. In flat screen this game will repulse player due to smaller scale, tedious scavenging for resources and fragility of Alyx. But it is working in vr. Honestly, that way of experiencing this game will only buther it without mercy. Not sure if it was because of this update or maybe random network timeout or something. @gamingonlinux I love how when I asked on reddit and discord back in the day about how to figure out which game uses what proton version I only got "not possible" as a response. Now here's ProtonUp-Qt with a literal UI for it, love it :) Just a reminder the best way to send news tips to ensure I get it is via email: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/email-us/ Never assume I already know ๐๐ค ICYMI: Humble Bundle has a whole lot of #Linux books going you might want to have a look at: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/linux-mega-bundle-packt-books?partner=gamingonlinux (partner)

It's a masterpiece and the music is over the top. Also it's cheap and we can support the creator. @gamingonlinux what was involved withca 4DX screening? Extra smells and water? Genuinely curious. :blobcatthink: Sadly this needs to be said: no one has a "right" to follow me here, and I absolutely will Mute and/or Block people as I see fit. If you go to one of my social chat places (IRC / Discord etc) to then take a grudge against me or moan about it - you will be banned. Ridiculous it had to be said, but it happened recently. A user went into my IRC, to moan about me because they think they're muted on here. *loud sigh* Realised today that even though i moved my old personal Mastodon to a new server, the old one was still somehow live and getting messages. Sorry if I never replied. That account has been removed. Best way to ask me anything official is always over email. Playing Jedi Fallen Order and we all agree the absolute worst parts are when you have to slide right?

@gamingonlinux enjoying the game but damn, Unreal Engine 4 makes me mad, its Texture Streaming issues are the worst @gamingonlinux I feel the slides would suck much less if there was inertia in the jumps (longer arc distance). Some physics I cannot understand there. It would still be, by far, the worst part in the game imho. @gamingonlinux ah I really loved it, I wouldn't describe it as good or bad, just felt like another mechanic. I started a play through again on the steamdeck a while back, this reminds me I need to pick that up again! This will ruffle some feathers butโฆ Most โSteam Deck Best Settingsโ videos are done by people whoโve hardly played the games, and their settings fall apart in later sections of most games they cover.

@gamingonlinux I remember watching a graphics comparison video for Guardians of the Galaxy (2021), and they said that the PS4 version runs at an almost smooth 30FPS. I ended up playing it, and there were fights that tanked the framerate down to the single digits by the middle of the game. @gamingonlinux Also, for me, "best settings" usually prioritize battery life over graphics or frame rate. @gamingonlinux very similar to that is when people say a game is perfect on an emulator with fhd@60 with specific settings + hardware, but only test the first 5 minutes. And then you find out that the game crashes an hour in or is just extremely slow and unplayable. Donโt let anyone make you feel bad about doing something that brings you joy, like playing video games, no matter your age.

Good morning to everyone except the VERY loud birb outside my window this morning. Don't you know I need energy to game?

@gamingonlinux Some mornings, when i go to sleep (:3), i hear all the birds right close to my room. So i launch "Blanket" with some louder birds on my speakers until they stfu, or until i fall asleep. @gamingonlinux good morning. Just wanted to say thanks for making a blog about deltarune on linux. Helped me to run my favorite game on my favorite os :) |
@gamingonlinux seems interesting but I'm skeptical they'd work with my prescription lenses
@gamingonlinux Does it do head tracking when you use the glasses as a virtual desktop? Or does it hold the desktop in a fixed place?
@gamingonlinux this was genuinely the reason I finally went for the steam deck, been wanting a cyberpunky interface system since I was a kid and it's close enough a combo to count in my book
it does, of course, make you feel the shortcomings of a single usb-c port for video, as all the hubs out there don't have a video-out port, and only the redmagic adapter allows use & charging at the same time as far as I can see, but still an excellent experience
