@grumpygamer with this toot you have instantly locked the two wolves inside me in a mortal battle between "yeah! programming is fun and cool!" and "no! promulgating a toxic hustle culture will burn people out!" @gamingonlinux Would it be too much to ask to return to basic DOOM gameplay instead of the lockdown rooms, monster piñatas, boring story and exposition, and pointless upgrade systems from the last two games? Because I really didn't like those. I wish they'd give us basic, no frills rip and tear again like the old games with pretty new graphics and crazy new weapons. I'm sure that's too much to ask. @gamingonlinux Looks interesting, but sad that whatever music that goes into it won't be as good as 2016 or Eternal. There's no way Mick Gordon will ever associate with the clowns that screwed him over before. Sid Meier's Civilization VII arrives in 2025 with a teaser (and Linux support again) https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/06/sid-meiers-civilization-vii-arrives-in-2025-with-a-teaser/ I kinda just feel like there are enough civilization games already, but I suppose we'll see if they manage to reinvent gameplay as much as they did from civ4 to 5 (remember pre-hexagonal maps?), and from 5 to 6 (remember pre-district mechanics?) @gamingonlinux problem with new civ game releases is I know I'm not getting a full game. I'm getting like 1/20th of a game and have to fork over another $150 (if on sale) for the complete experience. Just not worth it. Also Civ 2 is goated. The tinyBuild Humble Bundle is a great deal with multiple fun games https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/06/the-tinybuild-humble-bundle-is-a-great-deal-with-multiple-fun-games/ Here we go again Google.. getting a policy violation for "Malicious or unwanted software" for me reporting on...an NVIDIA security driver bulletin 🤦🤦 And of course, there is absolutely no way to contest it.

@gamingonlinux It ain't Real Broke until you have to drop into the root console and manually mount the boot device Don't have time to write it up properly at the moment, but there's a pretty big bundle of tinyBuild games live - looks good too: https://www.humblebundle.com/games/tinybuild-ign-live-showcase?partner=gamingonlinux (partner link) @gamingonlinux Still grumpy that I helped crowdfund "no time to explain" and they shipped a broken version for macOS that didn't properly implement mouse grab, ignored bug reports and moved on to making their next game. I think I am done giving them money unless something big changes 😕 High on Life, Atari 50 Anniversary Celebration, MechWarrior 5 and more in this bundle https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/06/high-on-life-atari-50-anniversary-celebration-mechwarrior-5-and-more-in-this-bundle/ Hello! I am playing some Linux games over at https://cast.samsai.eu/ in about 15 minutes. Tonight we're going play some Slice & Dice and then continue with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. See you in the chat! Just got a google adsense violation on @gamingonlinux for someone linking to PCGamer's best sex games list in our Forum 😆 😂
