Looking up at the hanging flowers of a cerinthe plant as I lie on the ground. The flowers are bell-shaped, purple in colour with a pink rim and a single stamen in the centre. Behind them, the leaves change from purple-red to green as we look up along the stem. The background is the sky, so overexposed as to appear white

The more you start looking, the more you see, and now I'm seeing lichen everywhere.

I thought the colours of these lichens against the so-red-its-yelling-at-you brick were pretty awesome.

Lovely photo, thanks. Studying lichens was the most interesting aspect of a pilot ecology syllabus we were put on in school back in the 80s (in Ireland).
