After a few sailing seasons, this is what our anchoring gloves look like. They were not protecting my hands much in the end :neofox_laugh_sweat:
So long gloves! Have a rest, you've been through enough.

First spontaneous reaction: love this! It draws me in, intrigues me, makes me wonder, makes me stop to look and open up. Thank you! 💚 Kokorobot.ca now has a light mode! I'm not sure why I didn't do this earlier, all of my other sites have a light/dark mode :flan_shrug: As an adult I am embarrassed to say that I learned very late how to care for my teeth. I wrote this short post to share what I have learned.

@rek thanks a lot for writing this up! One thing that neither you nor replies have mentioned is using an electric toothbrush. Dentists here in the UK mention it on each visit and it did make a huge difference for me. You don't have to push so hard (so easier on the gums) and it still cleans better. The batteries are tiny so wouldn't add much load on the boat, but the ones that clean the best unfortunately have irreplaceable batteries so you end up having to replace them every 5 years or so... @rek Pino anchored in Bargain Bay, near Pender Harbour last month, taken by friends of ours that were anchored next to us :>...

@rek reading your book "Busy doing nothing" right now. Can't believe you passed the ocean with that little boat. @rek yes! And I find it impossible to say without sounding like I am putting on a fake New York accent, even though I am not. "Parking Tickets is a long-running show inside the I’m a Virgo universe. It’s a monologue-heavy, moralistic cartoon where every character is undergoing some sort of emotional turmoil. No one is okay or getting by. In some ways, the live-action world of I’m a Virgo is similarly afflicted. While Parking Tickets is somewhat of a moral compass of the show, its cartoon nature is inherently simpler than the real world Cootie lives in." I really loved watching I'm A Virgo by Boots Riley(director of Sorry to Bother You, an EXCELLENT movie), I highly recommend it. Fixed a few issues with the font for Hakum. Had bad kerning between n & l (the word only comes up a LOT haha~), also moved the apostrophe, hyphen and plus sign higher :neofox_cool: Font is still not 100% perfect, I fix it when I have time. I'd also really like to add glyphs for french(é è ê) at some point ^^ I am really glad that I kept notes on font-making, because it's been a while since I've made this, and when opening FontForge again I couldn't remember where to go to fix the kerning ^^;... "I'm sometimes asked why I'm having to plead for crowd-funding. How have I failed so badly at life?" My latest update to Liz Cullinane's Go Fund Me appeal for us. And yes, I have noticed that these are (maybe) getting a little weirder. https://www.gofundme.com/f/a-voyage-in-search-of-home The appeal closes at the end of this month. @ccohanlon You have not failed. You've been failed by all the countries that have made you leave or kept you out. Would you tell all the other migrants who are just trying to find a place to survive that they are failures? Try to extend the same grace to yourself. I can't speak for your other contributors, but I've supported your peregrinations because it is just a fluke of fate that I have not found myself in similar circumstances. Converse shoes are not made to last, but I really love wearing them. I don't want to buy them new, but so far I keep finding some at the thrift store! Found this lovely pair yesterday for 4$. Just gave them a bath(soles were dirty) and now they're as good as new ^_____^!

Dev made patterns on the enveloppes of the stickers we plan to ship using a spirograph they found at a thrift store ^____^ The marina where we winter put us at the end of the dock this year! For once, we'll have an unrestricted view of the harbour from our cockpit :>... @rek what I'm hearing is it's now easy to catch some winter winds on those cabin-fever days over the next 7 months... :) @rek “Expect lots of art featuring root vegetable root-shaped sailboats, rabbits, and seabirds!”—this sounds wonderful! I've had StarDict(a terminal dictionary) on my computer for some time now, but I only added a synonyms dictionary recently! Been using it a lot, it's great :D! In Canada, today is Orange Shirt Day, it's a day of awareness to recognize the atrocities perpetrated by the country's boarding schools on the children of indigenous communities. using FileIO orangify(x) = (x == RGB(1,1,1) ? RGB(1,0.5,0) : x) orange = map(orangify, load("teapot-bw.jpg")) I don't often post for a time-sensitive thing, but I figured some of y'all would like to know that my new set of Magic: The Gathering cards are now available! https://secretlair.wizards.com/us/product/1018463/tome-of-the-astral-sorceress

@helveticablanc oooh i saw these elsewhere and thought they were gorgeous, great job on these :3 @helveticablanc oh wow incredible 🤩 Just ordered 4x, the playset of preordains will go straight into my fairies pauper deck! __ Handwriting your RSS feed __ Do you write your HTML by hand? Have you ever wondered if you could keep an RSS feed similarly - no management software, only a webhost and a text editor? I've written a barebones guide to handwritten RSS. It's so, so, easy.

@abundance I did that for years, before I installed a CMS, because I though it was cool. Finally some retroactive validation 💜 @abundance We wrote a blog post about doing handwritten Atom feeds just recently - I think they're fussier but both are pretty easy to make! Check the generator tag on the #2ClownsInACloset podcast for a related Easter egg. Been doing this the hard way since the second episode. |
