We're pinned in Ketchikan, strong winds and heavy rain everyday, we can really soak-in the meaning of "4 meters of rain a year" edit: That's 12 feets I got wondering how much work it would be to compile s-expressions to #uxn, it turns out, not a lot. As a test, I've only implemented `let`, but it's shockingly easy to map lisp-like syntax to the uxn assembly, I might push this further still. https://git.sr.ht/~rabbits/qzil/tree/master/item/src/qzil.tal

✊ Not enough internet bandwidth to load local-first software, not enough cpu to run lospec games. Released the list of changes to the Hundred Rabbits projects for May 2024. Pino is now in Ketchikan (SE Alaska). More Truchet tiles, this time on a grid. These are so endlessly fun to iterate with. CMYK archival inks on 11x15 watercolor paper using a vintage HP 7585B pen plotter generated and controlled with Python. #PenPlotter #GenerativeArt #CreativeCoding #MastoArt #Art #ArtForSale #Artist #ArtForSaleByArtist #PenPlotterArt #PenPlot the number of times i have looked out onto the ocean and thought “this looks 3d generated” is probably concerning The architecture in Ketchikan is terrific, it's all these extra long wooden stairways creeping up the mountainside to where the houses are built, the wooden bridges connected by these stairways even have streetnames. I'll go take some pictures once the rain stops, lemme check the forecast to see when the rain will stops: August I love how lush this place is and how everything is connected by these wooden walkways, it reminds me of Japan. As we head further toward the glaciers, friends of ours have begun their way back down. We'll be seeing them again on the way south when fall comes. I don't expect we'll be seeing a lot of sailing vessels up here. Good bye SV Moonshine. @neauoire R2AK starts next week. If you hang around Ketchikan you'll be seeing sailboats, but I imagine you'll probably be moving further on before they get there. looking to pick back up on #fennel development once the jam is over and I get a chance to polish off a few things in Tower Institute of Linguistics just a few little things left on the list for the upcoming 1.5.0 release: https://todo.sr.ht/~technomancy/fennel?search=label%3A%22next-release%22 the theme for this release will be making the compilation output more efficient and better-looking here's what we've got so far: https://git.sr.ht/~technomancy/fennel/tree/main/item/changelog.md#150-- @neauoire what storage format even is the c-card? Is it like a ruggedized microSD or something? "Welcome to the US, now if you could download the ROAM application on your phone to complete your arrival check-in-" uh oh The immigration agent, after we showed up in person, when we told them that we didn't have a smartphone and couldn't run the check-in app: "Good for you. That's awesome." Even in remote places can we encounter the wild thickly accented Quebecois folk. We're filling up the water tanks when suddenly "Ayoy sibolak j'ma sui foullez a ch'ville en deboulant t'aleur-" @neauoire Mets-en, ciboire! Ages ago, we ended up in Lund, at the end of the 101 Hwy (I saw on @rek's map that you sailed pretty closed recently!). There, a fisherman originally from Québec called Jacques invited us to stay at his place, & was very happy to host a gang of french speaking travellers to talk about camembert and stuff. He had spent his life here and had this kind of unique accent and vocabulary you can hear in Canada out of Québec. |
