Even in remote places can we encounter the wild thickly accented Quebecois folk.

We're filling up the water tanks when suddenly "Ayoy sibolak j'ma sui foullez a ch'ville en deboulant t'aleur-"

@neauoire this accent is very hard to understand for foreigners, French included. I'd love to hear more of it live.

Maybe next time I'm in Quebec. đŸ€ž

@neauoire Mets-en, ciboire!

Ages ago, we ended up in Lund, at the end of the 101 Hwy (I saw on @rek's map that you sailed pretty closed recently!). There, a fisherman originally from Québec called Jacques invited us to stay at his place, & was very happy to host a gang of french speaking travellers to talk about camembert and stuff. He had spent his life here and had this kind of unique accent and vocabulary you can hear in Canada out of Québec.

@artsun @rek Lund! We never stopped but we sailed past many times.

Everytime we run into Quebequois we have an instant bond. We just had a bit of a pre-departure party aboard Pino with sailing friends from Hong-Kong and Quebec. We talked about pickling and engine troubles and glaciers.

@neauoire ca veut dire quoi sibolak ? 👀
