I like to be up very early to work on my project and study, but inevitably it means that come evening I am super tired, which means I have less patience with my daughter when doing her bedtime. I don’t like that part one bit! Frustrating macOS bug that's persisted across two major versions: if I set the desktop background to a file that's in Dropbox, un/plugging my external display will reset the background to the OS default. Haven't found a way around it so far!  @gosha if you're using dropbox for your backdrop because it updates, what about setting up an automator script (whatever that robot thing is called) to periodically copy the file from the dropbox to a local folder and use that as your backdrop, presumably it'd be unaffected by your external display being reset? It's very interesting and also quite touching, it takes strength to be this earnest and authentic online. A huge improvement over banking apps if I say so myself 😇 https://github.com/goshatch/money  @gosha i've been doing a similar thing but i've been using a hledger journal file as the destination format (https://hledger.org/) (actually csv → edn → hledger journal). unfortunately the csv from my bank changes ever so slightly every couple of months that i have to adjust it, but in general i'm quite happy
