I posted a blog post on my (@artectrex) personal blog going over some recent changes and improvements to PixelDroid: https://artectrex.eu/pixeldroid-and-android-media-editor/ I also talk about the Android Media Editor library which is a library aiming to provide the easiest way to add image and/or video editing to your Android app, and some exciting future plans including a new app and a revolutionary new way of doing filters :)

The release after that will likely contain support for stories! Both viewing other stories and adding to your own I just need to work out a couple small UI details and am waiting for a server update to be merged but it's looking good ππ

Release 21 fixes the crash introduced in release 20! You can now upgrade and use all the new features and improvements that were added since release 18, such as: Delete & redraft Initial collections support Initial profile editing support Bookmark support Android 12 Dynamic Colors See profile as a feed Description template(prefill description with for example #pixeldroid π) More video editing features: crop, change speed, add stabilization Stability and bug fixes Update translationsβ€οΈ

Hi everyone, A new release just came out on F-Droid! Big update and changes of the colors in the app. You can now choose a color accent out of the four possible choices, the bottom bar in the main activity was updated to a more "Material 3" look. This release also adds a new mascot drawing (which I commissioned with funds from NLnet πͺπΊ) I hope you like it π Have a nice day!

@PixelDroid now if only you could fix the "discover" tab (the one with the magnifying lens icon) so it actually refreshes the pictures on the page, that would be brilliant :D

@PixelDroid hey guys, for some reason pixeldroid does not take pixelfed.social as a valid instance URL in the very beginning of the app. Any idea how I can fix that?

Hello beautiful people. I am publishing a release allowing video editing in the app. For now, you can mute and trim the beginning and end of the video, but it shouldn't be too hard to add a lot of other features in the future like cropping for example π It does make the APK size a lot bigger but that will get better in a future update :)

Another update is allowing you to open images in full screen and zoom, pan etc (finally ^^). For an app focused on image sharing this is a feature which should've shipped a long time ago, sorry for the wait :). These updates will be rolling out in F-Droid in the following days

The blurhash functionality will make the experience on a slow connection much better, and the app will feel smoother thanks to it π Thanks @dansup for implementing this on the server side :) Also coming soon: 1οΈβ£ PixelDroid will stop you from trying to put more pictures in a single post than your server supports, and 2οΈβ£ warn you if an image is too big (option to compress in those cases is on the TODO list). 3οΈβ£ You will be able to see all the images of a profile, instead of just the first images

Just pushed a release, this one fixes some bugs introduced in last week's release, and overhauls the post creation process.
