Thing is, Zinina's fall didn't look disastrous. And that she couldn't get up without assistance was a bit unexpected and alarming.

We still have no word on the injury, but she's already been replaced with another participant, which means it's serious.

I wish Anastasia as swift a recovery as possible.

While this sport may look like all glitter and smiles, it is, fact, extremely hard work with blood and tears. And it is dangerous.

The word is it's just a heavy bruising, not a fracture, which is good news. However, Anastasia will spend this week in the hospital, which still looks serious to me.

Watching Channel One Cup of Figure Skating. And I have to admit that it is rather obvious that most participants are not in their top form.

Which is a bit... unusual, because these are top placed athletes as per the results of the Russian Championships, and normally top three of them would be competing at Euros about now.

(I don't know the dates of Euros this year, tbh, but usually it's around mid January)

Maybe they don't feel like putting much effort into this, even despite the prize money

Although I have to say that I did need that, even if it's not quite the same as watching figure skating live. I need all the inspiration I can get, because I need to finish that damned novel, and I just don't know how at this point.

I was going to do it last year, but... ugh... Frankly, I spent half the year in an emotional coma, and I'm still not recovered. Still, this thing needs to be finished, even if it's now in the category of banned literature. 😆

Are we going to end up just a radioactive ash? Is that what will become of us?

Today I'm drunk enough to play Tango Tzigane that actually sounds like tango, if I say so myself, but don't give enough fuck to film it! 🤣

I wonder when the neighbours will come for me with pitchforks.

The Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre has announced it is removing works by Russian composers from its repertoire.

The first ones to go are Shostakovich and Stravinsky.

Because, of course, Stravinsky (of all people! 😆) is certainly "too closely associated with this country’s aggressive policy".

Although, I suppose, this harms Lithuanian public more. Both Shostakovich and Stravinsky have no shit left to give anymore.

I wonder how Anton Rubinstein and Alfred Schnittke (off the top of my head) would be classified. Technically they are Jews, but had lived on the Russian territory. 🤔

However, seeing how Stravinsky who had left Russia even before the Bolshevik revolution has not been spared, I'm not sure what the criteria is.

@SeventhMagpie Absolutely vile behavior. I might have hoped that a year after the war started the wave of Russophobic bigotry would be dying down, but no, it only seems to be getting worse. I suppose I should have known better: coddling racists never ends well.

And here we go.

The first criminal case under the new gay propaganda law was initiated against an independent publisher Popcorn Books. They used to publish a lot of LGBT YA literature, both foreign (translated) and Russian.

To the very last moment I hoped that they wouldn't come after books. You know how it looks.

And I really hate it that what I write with love technically makes me a criminal.

Fuck homophobes.

@SeventhMagpie I am pretty sure it was the goal.

It is all about theater except some actors' suffering is real.

Litres has completely removed all LGBT books from its store.

The ones that have been previously purchased are still available for download (no DRM, as far as I can tell). However, everything else, including bookmarked titles and lists on author profiles, comes up as "temporarily unavailable".

Back in December LGBT books had been still available, albeit moved into the "Erotica" category. Now Litres has gotten rid of them entirely.

I'm writing banned literature. 😆
