I want to finish this thing already and start editing. I love editing probably more than writing (especially when it's the first draft that has to be written). When I look at this iPhone SE 2nd gen (which I got for free, mind you), I think that this is something that wouldโve been good somewhere around 2010, when I was looking to replace my 5,7โโ Asus. Also, the keyboard is difficult to use after Googleโs (drives me mad, tbh). And all apps are paid and very expensive. :) What I would have liked, though, is an iPad. Because of Scrivener, you guessed it right. ๐ A tablet would make achieving wordcount goals easier. Although after Iโm finished with the full draft (hopefully by the end of autumn), I will move to markdown editors for rough first edit, so the trusted Huawei tab will do. Trying to catch up with the writing schedule that was disrupted during the business trip. Not extremely successful so far, but not too bad, either. @SeventhMagpie What are you writing? (Sorry, been away from Mastodon and have no idea what people are up to.) Have a ringtone I made for iPhone. Simply download and copy it to the phone via iTunes. ETA: It should work on Android, as well. It's just that it adheres to Apple's requirements. Android is not that strict. :) Okay, there has to be something not quite right. I will have to go through my settings and check whether I have accidentally locked myself. Or something. I mean... to a stupid little poll of "choose a name" I only get 3 responses? ๐ The decision is made anyway, especially since my Telegram readers (all two of them) have also supported Sofia. She's one but the youngest character in this book (only the MC's daughter is younger), appears only once or twice, so I know basically nothing about her. This is going to be an interesting way to get to know her. I'm already thinking. @SeventhMagpie you're posting earlier than most people Help me choose one of my (randomly picked) characters in whose POV to write a flashfic. Boosts are welcome. :) Anonymous poll

Voting ended 31 Aug 2023 at 7:30. I got laid off. Was called to Moscow for that, so they could do this in person. I don't know what to do. Frankly, I'm devastated. I've been moving from one stress to another, and now this. I hope the plane crashes on my way home. I have found a #Typora beta installer from somewhere around late 2018 in my downloads. Back from when it still had a beautiful icon, you know. :) Reinstalled it. And it works. ๐ฅ Maybe it lacks some shiny features (it's a five year old beta, after all), but I use it mainly for writing prose, so it doesn't matter much. Thank myself for being such a hoarder. ๐ Almost three weeks into the grand campaign of finally finishing this godawful novel, I have added ~10k words to the draft. Now it's over 44k words in total. Doesn't seem like a lot. However, the most important part is that at least I'm now writing every day, even if it's only about 500 words and even that takes no less than 1.5 hours. I hope to finish this draft by mid October, let it lie for some time, and then in winter I will start editing. :) A question for my #German friends! :) Do you have a city with a criminal reputation? Some unofficial capital for shady doings, or something? The context. I have a secondary character who is a member of organised crime (drugs, arms, prostitution - the usual stuff). He's never openly announced as a mafioso, but it's actively hinted at. His group mostly operates from Canada. However, they have partners in Germany, so from time to time he goes on "business trips". Where would that be? @SeventhMagpie Frankfurt am Main (important!, there is another Frankfurt in Germany) has a pretty bad reputation especially when it comes to drugs and public safety. Second place would be Berlin actually. Those two have the highest crime rate. For hinting to crimes I'd probably choose Frankfurt am Main as people tend to associate it with such things The question is, can I actually trust Apple with my address book? ๐ค Or is it no better than G**gle? At the eatery formerly known as McDonalds a male server with the nametag that reads "Pashka" is shamelessly flirting with a blushing guy, who is ordering a cheesecake (I think). ๐ Seriously, though. There's letter X in Cyrillic alphabet. Looks absolutely the same, sounds differently. The first word starting with X that will immediately occur to a person speaking Russian will be "khui" (dick). ๐ Even if a person would claim being decent and knowing no such words, you know they are lying. ๐ I do hope Elon does it on purpose. ๐คฃ I have bought myself another #cactus. It has feathers. I sense a period of new special interest coming. I've never been a plants person, yet since around April I've had a strong urge to dive headfirst into cacti. Figuratively speaking. |
