Qualsevol cosa no dubteu a mencionar-me!

Normalize not building your entire identity on whom you hate.

@kimlockhartga Oof I need this reminder. I am way better than I used to be, but I still let people live rent free.

ALSO when you do fight, fighting from LOVE is so much more powerful.

When you fight from HATE you open yourself up to getting manipulated and used.
(look at rank and file US midwestern conservatives)

Pope_missopan

@kimlockhartga I don't even understand why all the people NEED to hate!?

Like in that clip from "Into The Wild" - "Control! Judgement! The Whole Spectrum!"

Why must people be DEVIOUS!!?? Why can't people just let go, to just live alone, void of hate, nothing gained nothing lost - just BE KIND, why not?

Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world, WHERE EVERYTHING'S EXACTLY LIKE IT SEEMS - but people need to come along TO PISS ON YOUR DREAMS-- why can't they just STICK TO THEIR OWN PERSONAL DREAMS?

George Orwell's original publisher, #VictorGollancz, is selling its huge #Orwell Archive to private collectors.

Orwell's son Richard: "Once Gollancz material is acquired by private collectors, it could disappear into the ether for ever."

Gollancz is now owned by #Hachette, one of the publishers suing the @internetarchive (#InternetArchive).

@petersuber @internetarchive who wants to crowdsource a campaign to bring this to the commons?

@petersuber @internetarchive For real fans --
however this goes, I will say that
"The collected essays, journalism and letters of George Orwell"
was one of the truly great reading experiences
Seems to be on Internet Archive, certainly in good libraries

Shuts down laptop: I think that’s enough internet for today.
Picks up phone: Let’s see what the pocket-sized internet is doing.

Her: "Oh you're cute, can you send me some more pics?"
Me: "What kind of pics?"
Her: "You know... the ones you get sent at 3am ;)"
Me: "Oh... those pics"
<Sends a picture of a server crash incident log>

@retiolus neat. Thank you! It's a useful way to explore forums in the app, since otherwise you need to know people IRL who are interested in this kind of thing :)

retiolus

No the app works perfectly on the emulator but doesn't on the device...

First to propose, first to deliver: the AI Act enters into force today.

It sets comprehensive rules to address the risks of AI:

🔴 Unacceptable risk AI, such as social scoring, is banned
🟠 High-risk AI, like in medical devices, must meet strict requirements
🟡 Limited-risk AI, like chatbots, must inform users they are interacting with AI
🟢 Minimal risk AI, such as spam filters, can operate with no added obligations

Europeans can now safely seize the opportunities of AI: europa.eu/!t4QTc8

@EUCommission How is spam filtering *not* social scoring ... obviously nobody familiar with even 20 year old Bayesian training much less modern infrastructure (as implemented by the likes of Gmail) had any input into this mess.

#Captchas

@sebsauvage
