#Catima 2.32.0 is out!

This is a minor release which fixes the #Stocard importer (again), adds an accessibility feature to switch between the displayed card with the volume keys (when enabled in settings) and contains some small polish like adding some icons to the add dialog box.

Coming soon to an app store near you :)

It's so frustrating to see Microsoft copy inventions from the Linux world and act like they're new. Ads in the start menu? Come on, we had that in Ubuntu back in 2012 already, you're late to the party *again*.

To be fair, it's not really new on Windows either. Not sure if that was already introduced with Win8, but Win10 definitely had ads for stuff from Windows Store (like Candy Crush or Disney+) in the start menu

Screenshot of Windows 10 start menu, that lists "Disney+" under "Productivity" (I never installed that) and Pinterest, Spotify and some mobile-game-likes under "Play" (I didn't install any of that either)

Being late to the Party is Microsoft best Product strategy so far. 😅

@SylvieLorxu don't remind me of that abomination. That's when unity started going downhill.

Okay, this is officially the dumbest reason anyone ever gave Catima a 1 star review.

Not being able to find a feature that already exists that I put a huge button for happens every now and then, but that's forgiveable, because I'm not an UX expert and I'm probably building my app flow in a slightly confusing way.

But using some permission viewer and screaming an app is insecure because it *exports a permission to ensure other apps need to ask permission to access your data* is just stupid.

A 1 star Catima review on Google Play.

The user wrote: DANGEROUS. Odczytaj swoje karty i ich szczegóły, włącznie z notatkami i obrazkami -.READ_CARDS. Niegrzeczna aplikacja.

This gets translated to: DANGEROUS. Read your cards and their details, including notes and pictures -.READ_CARDS. Naughty application.

Developer explanation: You're misunderstanding. The READ_CARDS permission is a permission created by Catima so you can choose if other apps can read your Catima cards. See Settings -> Privacy -> Allow other apps to access my data. It is currently used by Gadgetbridge to ask permission to show your cards on some Amazfit and Bangle.js devices. It gives you MORE privacy.

I really really hate it when people use tools they don't understand and hastily come to completely wrong conclusions and then punish others for their lack of research.

I'm sure this person meant well but they're only causing damage like this.

And it happens so often that people who mean well cause damage by not knowing what they're doing.

It's frustrating.

New developer verification requirements from August 31, 2023

To boost trust and transparency on Google Play, we're expanding developer verifications as part of our Play Console requirements policy.

To create a new Play Console developer account for an organization after August 31, 2023, you'll now need to include:
- A D-U-N-S number for your organization: Provided by Dun & Bradstreet, a D-U-N-S number is a unique nine-digit number that is used globally to identify businesses. Google will use your D-U-N-S number to verify your organization.
- A contact phone number and email address for Google Play users: These will be shown on Google Play so that users can contact you. You'll need to verify them by receiving a code.

To help you prepare for these changes, we recommend reviewing your Dun & Bradstreet account to make sure that it's up to date with the latest information about your organization.

Developers with existing Play Console accounts will also be required to provide this information soon. We'll give existing developers plenty of notice to verify their accounts, and we'll send an update about these requirements later this year.

Google will display your legal name, your country (as per your legal address), and developer email address on Google Play. If you decide to monetize on Google Play then Google will display your full address.

Your contact email address, contact phone number, and developer email address must be verified using a one-time password and remain operational for the duration of your developer account.

This is your occasional reminder that F-Droid really isn't slower in publishing updates than Google Play.

Pushed the update to Google Play, tagged for F-Droid immediately after. So Google Play even got a slight headstart because Google Play got notified, F-Droid had to detect the update itself.

Yet Catima 2.19.0 is live on F-Droid, but still waiting on Google Play.

Google Play bonus: they're currently yelling at me to fill in a Data Safety Form I filled in and they approved months ago.

Google Play Console: Catima 2.19.0 still in review
F-Droid: Catima 2.19.0 available to all users
