So I've been notified that my role is at risk. Would anybody like to hire a me. I've spent the last 7 years as chief architect, which realistically meant doing every job from infrastructure to product and occasionally acting CTO. For the last two years I've been merging platforms of two billion dollar companies. I am interested in everything, and curious to try new things. I like python and postgres, but happy to quickly pick up any stack. You do not want me anywhere near your frontend code.

Absolutely losing it after discovering what3words took control of the whatfreewords domain by arguing that "three" and "free" are indistinguishable when spoken. https://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/search/text.jsp?case=D2019-2439

Hello! It's me again: Your yearly reminder that drives fail, SSDs bitrot, and you probably need to do a review of your backup strategy. You should have at least two copies of anything you care about. This message brought to you by a second drive in my ZFS array failing while the first one was still rebuilding. Happy holidays.

Last night the building housing @pixelbar hackspace in Rotterdam was completely destroyed by fire. They've lost everything. If you can spare some cash to help them rebuild: https://pixelbar.nl/donations/ It turns out you can simply serve a file from a domain to use it as your bsky handle. So this guy is now S3. All of S3.

@jonty I actually have an external HDD that doesn't even fucking work on 3.0 mode so I have to use a hub or the USB 2.0 port on my Laptop.
@jonty that's what you get when you let marketing people generate copy with AI.
