[DATA EXPUNGED]
Last July, apparently due to trolling those who are really obsessed with ""conspiracy theory"" around Diego Garcia (still one of the many pieces of land colonised by Britain)... some Malaysians decided to, uh, "vandalise" Google Maps data for said island. Someone successfully put "a shelter for mourning Liverpool fans" (in Malay - ah, don't you love football banter) on the map. I guess those with an eye on the map data had a great spring cleaning later. Comparison between 2012 and 10 years later in #OpenStreetMap Thanks Ilya for this visualisation! Great news! Izzy's F-Droid repo offers the Bluetooth GNSS app too. Well, not sure if it would work without Google Play Services... https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/com.clearevo.bluetooth_gnss The forums will be migrated to https://community.openstreetmap.org/ which is using Discourse Wow... in the year 2022, there are still programmes using tiles with the legacy MapQuest OSM rendering?! What?! How?! There was an announcement by the prime minister this afternoon, regarding some road-related infrastructure improvement works. But apparently his prepared speech mentioned a location I've never heard before. Probably older generations knew better. I was actually looking for "Jambatan Menjalara" in my local city. Lucky me, a cursory search landed me some clues. My additions fell on the range of 9,993,000,000th node Grrrrrrrrrrrrr... I was so preoccupied with stuff! Someone from 🇵🇭 Phillipines (Mikko) dropped by over Malaysia (very likely somewhere near Kuala Lumpur) about a few weeks ago... hmmm... And also Meta's keyperson (that AI stuff thingie) might drop a visit to KL/Malacca in a month or two 🤷 (Grrr I know, Meta, but) https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=111277304901159 I guess these rubber barriers may be OK if someone decided to map as multiple carriageways My personal recorded GPS tracks since 2014, produced with https://erik.github.io/derive/ Yeah, there are still more places to map (but yet I still have to put it on #OpenStreetMap) Well... I don't usually go to Kuala Lumpur (and it's obvious) 😅 That track was actually recorded on a sleeper train on diesel IIRC. Wow, I do miss the train a lot: now it's all electric and is faster. @AkuAnakTimur |
