writing short running stupid programs in rust is stupid, makes it harder to fix and contribute to them and must be stopped :(

you don't need lifetimes, if your programs lifetime is less than 5 seconds >:(

goddamnit, in compiled world people have Haskell for writing stuff if you want proper type system, Go if you want a trigger-disciplined version of C, Zig if you just want C, Nim if you want all of aforementioned — and yet everyone embraces that weird cult of RiiR

and yes, your thing is probably better off solved using 2 lines of Nushell or god-forbid-Python. Go ahead, and just iterate on that solution instead of making 1KLOC boilerplate with 5 dependencies just for error message handling.

I don't know why I'm doing this. Probably this board has other issues and this is all for nothing.
And yet, here I am, soldering INSIDE a chip.

Tomorrow or Monday I'll tackle the other 8 missing pins. Too tired now.

Our GSMA SGP.21 consumer eUICC in plastic card form factor is finally back in stock. Install any eSIM profile on a removable card: shop.sysmocom.de/sysmoEUICC1-e

Edoardo

@sysmocom do I understand correctly that using it in place of a SIM in a non eSIM enabled mobile phone would add eSIM capabilities? Is this limited to some region/areas?

That's forgetting the annoying part of having a word in one language but not the one you need, but that's a pretty accurate description :blobcat:

@nixCraft
Yes, saw them as well on my end. Tried contacting them and not much of a response yet. We should feed them digital rubbish, so their products will output 🤡💩

@nixCraft Well done to the @linuxmint team for finding and blocking this Ai scraper 👍

@nixCraft Dang, I actually somewhat enjoyed using Claude, for all its limitations.

We're extremely pleased to announce a major milestone in the history of seL4: The proof of functional correctness for the 64-bit Arm architecture (AArch64) is complete!
Congratulations Proofcraft on this awesome achievement!
We're immensely grateful to UK's National Cyber Security Centre for for funding this work, which is of great importance to the seL4 ecosystem.
You now no longer have to chose between a verified kernel and a modern processor, you can have both 😁

@sel4

I'm no expert so I have a question.

Is this a proof that the software behaves as intended on the specified hardware regarding input and output?

Or is it a proof that no vulnerabilities exist - eg side effects from a given input/output pair?

johnz

@sel4 congratulations! this is a great achievement!

plymouth makes me love computing again. their script module is a small dsl written in lt 1000 lines of code, and it's quirky but sooooo rewarding

it feels like writing in pascal again, 14 years ago...
