probably the biggest thing I miss about working on a design team in the corporate world is having access to WGSN (a trend forecasting website that costs $3k a year for an account). i can’t emphasize enough how insane + dystopian it was.

last night’s dream was so close to being lucid. please root for me in future dream endeavors i wanna go back to the island cave system making a moodboard of recent art to help steer the direction of an upcoming project nothing will ever beat the high of being 13 years old and drawing shit like this  i drew this at 25. you could say it’s “objectively” “better”, but did it provide *more* satisfaction than earlier art? no it did not  @lake i think at that age i was drawing like, anthropomorphic pirate animals. they are all long gone tho 👀 i have covid rn so my brainpower is maxing out watching jennifer’s body which was unfortunately relatable @lake Jennifer’s body is based. Good move all around. Watching it made me really sad for remembering how bullied everyone involved was after it came out. anyway here is a picture @90377sedna took of me holding a large block of cheese in a dumpster.  if i could change anything about this id get rid of the phrase “the only rule is work” completely. fuck “work”. i could elaborate but I won’t dug up some photos of Old Town Mall in #baltimore, bc of a post from @AbandonedAmerica  freehand cherub #tattoo for a dear friend. it was a coverup of one of the first tattoos I ever did (8 years ago!) the tattoo in its different forms…. wish I could legally change my name to be a string of unpronounceable zalgo text i inherited a relative’s (adorable, beautiful, perfect) sewing box yesterday. threw out the trash n rusty needles that had accumulated inside and got it lookin real cute again <3  lucky enough to have a friend who will dress me like a haunted porcelain doll whenever we hang out every day I wake up unsure if the retinol is working or my eyesight is getting worse they’re painted on canvas glued to magnet paper, so they can be used as a fridge magnet, or stuck to any magnetic surface does your water bottle need a new sticker? or have you always wanted a print of a girl ripping her own head and arms from her body, on the wall of your home? well you are in luck. i just listed these 2 new things on my shop, check it out if you wanna : https://lakesleep.etsy.com gonna b posting some film photos I took in Georgia and Armenia ~~ this is the station square market in Tbilisi where me + @liaizon bought maybe the best walnuts and dates I have had in my life. 2nd pic is not film, but $30(!) worth of groceries from a bunch of diff shops in this area. i wish all grocery gathering experiences could be this thrilling….. wires are human cobwebs.  |
besides more benign things like color palettes of the year, trending materials etc, i remember reading:
- thinkpieces about ways in which the self care trend could be made more profitable
- how different generations had different values and needed to be marketed to differently (and all the ways to do that)
- profiles on people that could be described as “micro-influencers” that explained their niche appeal (they didn’t know they were being profiled)
