 have been doing weekly figure drawing parties w friends for the past three weeks. it’s felt so good to get back into the groove of drawing human bodies. and really cool to feel like each session gets easier, like my drawing brain is being resurrected fresh batch of jun in dumpstered glass bottles (for continuity’s sake - i got the labels off with a razor blade)

DONT PLAY WITH MY HEART THIS PARASOCIAL RELATIONSHIP COULD MEAN SOMETHING TO ME nobody is talking about the fact that mac demarco just dropped the best album of his career, which happens to feature absolutely 0 lyrics havent done a Foodpost in a while so here is a meal of almost entirely dumpstered food (only things that weren’t: spices, onion)  my ~cottagecore~ sticker sheet is up in my shop today! the art is traditional ink/watercolor, w edits in clip studio paint. the dielines and layout were made using #inkscape. *the primal urge to style product photos with dead flowers and vintage postcards* sketchbook scans of favorite subjects (floating wires / flowers that do not exist) if we’re being completely honest my dream last night was probably derived from bionicle lore design appreciation for….. this little spool of thread with a red chain on it. Unexpectedly metal i recently remembered the login info for a tumblr acct Ive had since 2011. lately been back on my bullshit (reblogging aesthetic inspiration) https://aurafile.tumblr.com/ probably the biggest thing I miss about working on a design team in the corporate world is having access to WGSN (a trend forecasting website that costs $3k a year for an account). i can’t emphasize enough how insane + dystopian it was. besides more benign things like color palettes of the year, trending materials etc, i remember reading: - thinkpieces about ways in which the self care trend could be made more profitable - how different generations had different values and needed to be marketed to differently (and all the ways to do that) - profiles on people that could be described as “micro-influencers” that explained their niche appeal (they didn’t know they were being profiled) last night’s dream was so close to being lucid. please root for me in future dream endeavors i wanna go back to the island cave system making a moodboard of recent art to help steer the direction of an upcoming project nothing will ever beat the high of being 13 years old and drawing shit like this  i drew this at 25. you could say it’s “objectively” “better”, but did it provide *more* satisfaction than earlier art? no it did not  @lake i think at that age i was drawing like, anthropomorphic pirate animals. they are all long gone tho 👀 i have covid rn so my brainpower is maxing out watching jennifer’s body which was unfortunately relatable @lake Jennifer’s body is based. Good move all around. Watching it made me really sad for remembering how bullied everyone involved was after it came out. anyway here is a picture @90377sedna took of me holding a large block of cheese in a dumpster. |
