@dansup Can’t wait for the pixelfed app! That’s probably gonna give pixelfed a huge boost. Let me know when the beta starts. In addition, we're using bearcaps and a limited time window for fetching the activity object. Story media urls will be rotated after the window closes. Really excited for the Desktop Compose UI! Had a blast building it, I hope people find it easier to use! #pixelfed #composeUI Could you please fix the compose error which doesn’t let compose this is my site I cannot afford my friends to visit the site cause compose doesn’t work literally the drop down list which appears when entering a users name doesn’t work at all Why aren’t you aware of this and why aren’t you bothered at all? While composing is an essential feature Think I might spin up a new pixelfed instance on activitypub.social to host a group or two. Registration would be closed, but that shouldn't be a problem 😉 #groups #activitypub #fediverse @activitypub @activitypub or maybe activitypub.network, not sure which domain to use. Finally will get some use out of some of these domains 😅  @dansup Would actually love to see that on :pixelfed: On Revolut for example you have a story like that at the beginning of next month showcasing what features they introduced in the previous month, it's really cool because some features are not so easy to notice 😀

 @dansup I haven't seen stories from other people yet, only my own (test-)story. It is indicated by the ring around my profile picture on my profile page. But where will I see indicators for stories of other people? A ring around the profile pic in the timeline would be pretty small and barely noticeable on a cell phone. Or will there be a stories header in the timeline or something?

  Added a few moderation tools to Groups in preparation for its release! Group admins will be able to limit interactions for a period of time without removing members, and more! #pixelfed #groups #moderation

@dansup what about the existing admin tools? A lot of stuff is not working in the existing features. When will those be fixed? Things like Comments not showing under posts, can't edit posts etc. oh how i wish i had a time machine to tell you that you'll have to rewrite the 90~ vue components to react native (for the mobile app) before it ever sees the light of day 😅

But unlike on Instagram, it's obviously possible to view stories without showing up in that list. The fact that Instagram does it in a compulsory manner has already gotten me into quite some trouble.

@dansup stories always seemed like a weird bolt-on feature on Instagram just to keep up with other social networks. We don't have to implement every feature to be "good" or a competitive or whatever. We xna do things that make sense to the platform. @dansup i have to admit i wasn't this excited for a long time, i'm waiting for a Pixelfed release very hard 😍 Facebook SHOULD be sweating right now I've been using snapchat for about a year now (snap score over 10k btw) and it surprised me how many friends use it as their main messaging app. A federated snapchat that you could host and invite friends, with a good/secure mobile app that is easy to use would be a game changer!
