@dansup what I was wondering is if it's normal to get a list of everyone who views your story, even if they don't interact with it @dansup alright, thanks. Are you adding an opt-out for those of us who prefer to not be logged? @m_eiman This is something that will require some consideration. They way I see it is that you are exchanging an indication you viewed for the ability to view an ephemeral post. If we allow opt-out of story view, we must also allow stories to only be viewed by people who indicate they viewed it. Balance is important.  But unlike on Instagram, it's obviously possible to view stories without showing up in that list. The fact that Instagram does it in a compulsory manner has already gotten me into quite some trouble. dansup, it's a complicated story involving me having a crush on someone who has a boyfriend... dansup, do you mean it's not possible to just see someone's stories by opening their profile? As in, they aren't somewhere in the actor, are they? You have to follow them? dansup, makes more sense this way. Though also makes stalking nearly impossible lol

@dansup stories always seemed like a weird bolt-on feature on Instagram just to keep up with other social networks. We don't have to implement every feature to be "good" or a competitive or whatever. We xna do things that make sense to the platform. |
@dansup is this a standard feature of the "story" concept, or something specific to Pixelfed?
