@dansup @pixelfed Hey, I would love to support you, but I'm unable to donate anything but crypto due to certain conditions. If you had a Bitcoin wallet or something, I could help you with the project I love so much, Pixelfed became a part of my daily life (even when Instagram couldn't) and I'm really really waiting and excited for Loops.
I'm sure there are many people that would be willing to help you through cryptocurrency.

I'm in talks with @liaizon regarding the @loops project manager role.

I'd love nothing more than a trusted, dedicated project manager to take the reigns and tell me what to do/code so I can focus on what I do best.

The project manager would be responsible for gathering feedback, planning features and organizing accordingly.

I can only do so much, delegating a role like this is a big deal, and I'm all for it ✨

Pixelfed was my first real open source project, I didn’t know what I was doing or getting myself into

I was working in the automotive industry at the time, I dreamed of doing web dev full time, and because of Pixelfed I was able to get a full time job which I still have today, and y’all helped make that possible!

I’m forever grateful to the #fediverse for helping me grow to become the developer I’ve always aspired to be!

I promise I’ll make it up to you 🚀

I'm kind of obsessed with the #fediverse

I've been working on @pixelfed almost every day since April 2018

I've learned a lot, and am still as dedicated to, and excited for the fediverse as I was when I first started Pixelfed

I know I've made some mistakes along the way, but y'all have been quick to point em out and help me grow and fix issues accordingly

This really is a labour of love, for the people.

Y'all keep me energized with your feedback and positive vibes. I really appreciate it. ❤️

Don't worry, I know it isn't just Mastodon. I'm not that clueless 😂.

Also a little bit about pixelfed too if you don't mind. Just what's special about it compared to other instances

Mostly replying cause I want interaction and people to meet. Absolutely love that Mastodon has a public timeline which isn't just weird and sad algorithmic curation

Pixelfed's 6th birthday is approaching next month.

To celebrate this milestone, I have an ambitious idea: 6 Years, 6 Apps.

I'm working on 6 separate apps that will launch this year that will extend your @pixelfed account in many new and exciting ways.

@loops and @supapp are the first 2, and will be launching in beta within the next month.

You have to be crazy to be this ambitious, and luckily, I am 😎

@pixelfed @loops @supapp 4 of 6 apps have been started and are between 20-80% complete.

The last 2 apps are being finalized, all will be open source (app + backend and web if applicable) and will be deployable along side your main Pixelfed server.

It's going to be a wild year for #pixelfed

There are a lot of features that I want to ship in @loops like:

- Audio/Sounds (reuse/share/search)
- AR Filters
- Advanced Camera editing
- Audio Captions (text to speech)
- Stickers (text, image, gif)
- Stitches (combine existing video with yours)

But first, lets ship the MVP!

New week, new @loops progress!

The Camera + New Video upload screens are done.

Hashtags and mentions will ship after the beta is live, I think follows, likes, comments and notifications are more essential and am finishing those up now.

Loops will be limited to Android and iOS, with the exception of video links which will have web previews.

I don't have the bandwidth to support web, and this enables us to build much richer experiences like AR Filters!

@dansup That's ok. I don't think many people need Loops in their browsers or on PC. However if you would make an app for PC I personally would be pleased with my windows tablet, but I don't feel like this PC App will find any popularity so it's very much effort without much reason

Loops will be a "sleeper" fediverse app, with the default appearance of a single flagship instance

You will be able to run your own loops server, and login to the app, but it will be less emphasized

The goal is to make @loops as user friendly, without any fediverse knowledge, as possible

When the users decide they want to migrate, they can take advantage of full account migration between Loops servers!

We're really onto something here...
