The closer we get to November 5th, the more our social networks remind me of this image. @henry On the plus side, Mastodon being an option without algorithms pushing content aimed at engagement through divisive content is nice. That with a well curated filter / mute/drop list is very helpful during all of this imo. It definitely lessens the amount of nonsense and arguing over politics in my feed here daily and makes it a place where I can focus on tech stuff. Today I am testing cross-posting Bluesky on myself. I created a bridge between profiles on Mastodon, Telegram, and Bluesky itself. In total, @mastogram connects 8 of my profiles in various networks. Also, several early adopters have signed up for testing with me. And I can't wait for the system to be ready for them. I just wrote my angry post about Google Play, and then went to Stripe and saw this. Have they all gone crazy today? It seemed like with digitalization we would have less bureaucracy. They raise the capacity of a human to deal with inane steps and calculations, and they allow the bureaucrat side to verify more complicated steps and calculations. To eliminate bureaucracy, you need to go back to people counting on their fingers and carving documents in stone tablets. I remember the times when registering an app on Google Play took 1 minute. Today, you have to upload your passport, fill out a billion forms, wait for moderation from a few days to several weeks, and don’t forget to periodically log into the damn panel and check if those bastards have come up with something new.
