Can't get MNT Pocket Reform, got Sipeed Lichee Console 4A instead.

It has 4 RISC-V cores and 16 gigs of RAM.

Had to disassemble it because battery ribbon cable was disconnected (just in case?). Seems powerful enough for programming, but maybe not enough to run heavy Pleroma FE. Or maybe it's just Firefox.

The keyboard layout is meh, and it's pretty hot, internal sensors say it's like 60° C. Though I like the screen and the size of the device, it's pretty tiny.

@a1ba is it possible to use Debian without firmware on that thing? Or custom image is required or something. I thought to buy it, but it is hard to understand beforehand if the device supports GNU+Linux good enough to actually use it in a long run

It’s now possible to create a #Guix System instance where the default ‘guix’ command sees the channels of your choosing:
guix.gnu.org/manual/devel/en/h

This is particularly useful if you want to create a ready-to-use system image.

@civodul i finally managed to give this a whirl over the last week, and it's very promising. however! the experience on my old desktop was pretty bad. it had to update its channels and rebuild guix's derivation *three* times each for "system build" and "system reconfigure", so it took well over an hour.

but this large annoyance hides a proper bug: since you have to be root to run "system reconfigure" and because that will trigger three separate channel updates and guix rebuilds over a potentially long period of time, it has a high likelihood leave behind root-owned files in the guix cache, requiring manual intervention to fix.

it's a promising start to a vision of being able to easily layer channels on bare guix, but the current implementation needs to stop constantly pulling channels and rebuilding guix. honestly, i don't think anything should ever pull guix except "guix pull". i assume there was some nasty thorn that made you have to do it this way?

Looks like all that time it was very easy to have a linux on a mobile device. It is more convenient than using lineageos. Droidian has Waydroid built-in to run lineage os alongside running Debian system.

Support Andrew Tropin work on GNU Guix and Guile ecosystems, that brings more user freedoms to users:

Andrew makes user-friendly guix distribution called RDE and improves GNU Guile tooling. Pretty sure that there are more projects to come in a future.

Мне кстати прокурор прямо в зале суда тоже желал смерти и был максимально токсичен ко мне, хотя я его не трогал. Не рекомендую иметь дело с судебной системой, тут похоже единственная выигрышная для обычного гражданина стратегия тотальное подчинение текущему законодательству.

Просрочился домен на мой сайт и великолепный reg.ru даёт всего один день на его оплату, а после он доступен перекупам. Теперь на моём домене какая-то лажа с рекламой, класс. А письмо от них по классике попало в директорию со спамом.

I've made a small avatar in gnu gimp.

The thing in a center is cybernetics logo taken from wikipedia. Lambda stands for lambda calculus. Red and black colors stands for anarcho-communism flag.
