Remember those days where you were given a choice to install high resolution textures if you had the beef to run it? Good times. (Backstory: I finally went ahead and got a good PC to play modern games. I was drowning in FOMO.) @garritfra Congrats! What did you get? I hope it has acceleration RGB to make it as fast as possible. ;) @thomas of course! :smart: I got an i5 12600, Radeon RX 6650 XT (OC edition) and 32 GB of RAM. Good enough to run all games in my library on highest settings, including Half Life Alyx in VR, which is on sale right now. :allthethings:  @garritfra Ah this annoys me so much. Iβm not a gamer, but I do occasionally play a bit of COD when time permits - I have an XBox One, but because I donβt use it often, I always have to spend at least 30 minutes updating everything when I do turn it on. Sometime itβs hours, and I only have time to update the thing. I understand why that happens, but itβs very frustrating. Auto-updates would be nice. @kev update time is one thing, but given these machines usually only have 500 GB to 1 TB of storage, I frequently go through my library and have to delete a bunch of games I don't play anymore. On my PS4, I can only have 2 - 3 AAA games installed at max. Really spoils the fun when you randomly feel like playing that one game in your drawer.  @garritfra @kev been eyeing off upgrading the PS5βs SSD, but the 1 TB was enough for my needs so far. |
I've played a lot of Modern Warfare 2 (1) back then. 12 GB on disk was plenty to run it. Cyberpunk, a moderately optimized game with a huge world and massive content needs 70 GB, so how the hell do you justify 175 GB? It's just insane.
