DB-ÖBB has announced a Paris-Brussels to Berlin and Vienna via Frankfurt from this December. Early timetables indicate alternating service in days between European Sleeper (who goes via Amsterdam) however plans are to make it daily. I can only be happy for more night trains in Belgium after having none for decades 😍 19 comments

For European Sleeper this puts pressure on the Prague extension (the original route plan) and the Barcelona route. Let’s also not forget Amsterdam-Berlin is also a huge market. One weird advantage: the Nightjets in Belgium take the HSL, which means they need approval for their carriages so the part to Brussels is kina small. With first delivery of the new NJs for Germany they hopefully can use that 200kmh stock. (I loved boarding in Antwerp Central Station!) @verbeeld no they do HSL2 to Liège. They follow the ICE route to Germany.
