Gregory's Server@ivory I have two timeline windows open on my Mac (for two different accounts). When I post a message (eg like this one), the notification that I posted the message shows up on the other timeline window, which is really weird and makes it seem like I posted on the wrong account.

Sorry to jump in, but is there a special tap Iβm missing to get to the most recent posts in my feed? When I launch the app Iβm at my old spot and I have to refresh numerous times to get to the latest posts.

@shepgo On iOS you can tap the very top status bar (iOS Time/battery status area) or double tap the home icon. However you should wait a bit so all the new posts can load in. You should see the unread counter continue to grow in number. When it stops, performing one of the above actions will take you to the latest.

Thanks, Iβll try again when the feed backs up. Iβd been refreshing, usually seeing a maximum number of around 187 posts, then Iβd immediately tap to the top. Iβll try waiting!

@shepgo Our app loads new posts in really fast. On our server it can load 2000+ posts in a few seconds. But it is possible busier servers like mastodon.social will slow the rate/number at which you can get new posts down which would make it take much longer. We will have to make improvements if that is the case.

@ivory Before I subscribed to Ivory one thing I liked about apps like (the now unsupported) Metatext was an instantaneous jump to the most recent posts, with a divider-notice down a few dozen posts at the point between the newest posts and the previous refresh, with a button to load the next-oldest posts.

@shepgo Yea most people don't like it that way. The way we do things has been a huge selling point of our app when it was based on Twitter. But there are more potential issues with it here on Mastodon as not every server is the same. We will make improvements to it. |
@peternlewis Yes that notification will always show on the primary column by design.
