@almaember @photos_floues @Curator @Feders_dub @chrisisgr8 who would abolish a border protection agency? It may need reform, and definitely should always be watched and scrutinised, but abolishing it would be ridiculous.
You wouldn't just let anyone in your house, and remove the front door. There are people who meet the criteria to move to the EU, and they can.
But crossing the Mediterranean, risking your life to gain illegal entry in the EU, is not the way to go about things.
@julianfairfax @almaember @photos_floues @Curator @chrisisgr8 the "way to do things" for starters would be for EU countries to stop making deals with regimes people are running away from, like the Libyan one that Meloni's government, with EU Commission permission, is happy to keep supporting. We have to stop interfering when it's convenient for us then shut the door on the issues we caused.
