✨ Authorized Fetch + Pixelfed

Enforce domain blocks at the federation level with Authorized Fetch, a feature borrowed from our @Mastodon friends.

⚡ Allowlist Mode - Only federate with instances you allow

⚡ Denylist Mode - Federate with all, except instances you banned

⚡ Hybrid Mode - Queue activities from unapproved instances, and accept/reject each instance (w/ triggers and custom rules to partially automate this)

Platform safety is crucial to us, and we look forward to shipping this 🚀

@pixelfed hybrid mode sounds great! I've loudly thought about a similar feature previously, wondering if that would be worth proposing to Mastodon maintainers.

@pixelfed @Mastodon I really like the hybrid mode. That's some good thinking, and (especially if it can be triggered without a restart) could really help with federation attacks.

@pixelfed nice! Mastodon admins have been asking for "hybrid mode" aka "greylist federation" for literally years now, so maybe Mastodon can borrow that back
